Oh, sorry...

Back around that time we were discussing exit strategies and were talking about maybe implementing a Global closure at 10%...I set that up at that time and it also coincided with the time of the Scottish referendum so all the trades closed.

I then decided it would alter the results somewhat and subsequently reverted back to the rules (as per page 1 and set up a 2nd demo that has the 10% global closure.

I'm going to be away for several days, not leaving laptop running not able to move stops etc. So I've closed GU and GJ for a small gain (overall) as I see possibility of AU moving back to SL and taking me out for less gain while GJ keeps moving down into further drawdown. AUDCHF I've left running. No other trades open. Will look at reentries when I return next week.

:good: Excellent stuff Shelley, the EA's banked +1296pips this week with -923 floating so even without the re-entry logic it's still well ahead.
Speaking of the re-entry after a few pints in the pub, I got to thinking I might be able to get my head around it and reviewing all of your recent re-entry trades you state "1 pullback candle, followed by 2 candles back into the trend" which is just this pattern

if so I think I've sussed it, can you just confim this is all you are looking at for re-entry.
On another note while backtesting the code to see if it worked, close on daily trend change came out ahead of close on weekly, only tested on one symbol so don't really know if it means anything but thought I'd throw it out there.

Yes you have the patterns correct for the re-entry, all other entry rules still apply.

I have had a look at close at daily change but often the exit is premature with price resuming in the original direction.

Also FYI, Steve has started on the ea as well.

Really looking forward to Steve's EA, it'll be great to see how he does in 1 or 2 lines what takes me 10 or more and although mine seems fully functional it doesn't mean it's right :roll:

Looking at the trades on daily close what it does help with is DD,for example weekly trend is down, sell got closed on daily trend change at -70 odd pips , price retraced up a little over 300 pips with the weekly still down, then next sell signal kicked in 30ish pips above the old SL so got those pips back again and avoided the DD, haven't looked at anywhere near enough trades to know the win/lose % but thats what rainy weekends like this are for :)

Zader, you've done great with the EA...everyone on this thread appreciates your efforts :clap:

I understand what you're saying about the drawdown...and that's a very valid observation based on your current results, however my drawdown has been less than 5% to date so not really relevant to my way of trading.

I think once the ea is complete with the re-entry trades, you should notice your drawdown reduces as at the moment the ea is jumping in as soon as criteria is met as per a new entry signal. Ie it's getting back in immediately after a trade has closed and that often is not the best re-entry point.
