G'day Art!
Got the answer re the EA! Been a long 16.5 hr day this end. On my way home I remembered which EA I was referring to. http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 08#p100008

Looking at the charts I am glad that I didn't finish tonight until 2300 Local (1000NY) or I would have been in the same boat as yourself.

Cheers

Just had the chance to check this morning's Tokyo pending trades.
AUDJPY - +15
CADJPY - +15
CHFJPY - +15
EURJPY - +15
GBPJPY - +15
NZDJPY - going sideways - closed
USDJPY - +15

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: They all hit the TP except NZDJPY.

Nice to know I now have the possibility of similar results x 5 each week without dramatically disturbing my appointment schedule.

My thanks to you (for the concept), Steve (for the EA), Elixe (for the indis) and everyone else for their feedback that made it all possible.

Cheers.
Hi :hi: Aussiedoc from Queensland

I've been following the thread with keen interest, setting up my charts with the latest indi as it comes out but now find myself in a state of confusion :youknow: as to which one is really the one I should be using. You seem to have it nailed so thought I would ask you which one you are using and go from there.

Have a splendid weekend! That goes for everybody by the way!

G'day Graham! :hi: :good:

In answer to your question, I
- set up Axis, Cowboy Go Markets, Bully Pepperstone & Vantage demo platforms,
- downloaded Elixe's indi package now in post 1,
- used my standard clock indi to check on the opening times that Steve posted (http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 70#p100073),
P4L Clock_6xx.mq4
P4L Clock_6xx.ex4

- followed Bob's suggestion to loaded the specific hourly indi relating to the relevant market open onto each platform,
- used the F4 button to note the open & close hours for each market (Tokyo, London & NY),
- correlated the results,
- opened the multi time frame indi in the package,
- transferred all the open/close times to their relevant positions,
- saved the indi into a template.

I also have a Pending buy and sell script that I use at the appropriate time.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints I was unable to trade London or NY which, considering that yesterday was NFP, was good because the NY results would have killed my Tokyo profits and seriously dented any London profits I may have made.

Hope this gives you the answer you were looking for.
Cheers
Doc :)

[quote="art » Fri Oct 03, 2014 9:48 pm"]Took a risk on US session, as it was nfp today, had to leave early, placed pendings before I left which was risky, would not have done that if i was live, and all the morning profit was taken away, so break even on the day[/quote

One of the hardest things in Forex to do is to close up shop and walk away for the day after a good season of trades. I still make the mistake of wanting to add to my winnings and sometimes losing them ........... often losing them .............. so ...................... greed is such a wonderful teacher. :(

Me too... always want to add after closing with profits

But always end up losing... so... now there's a MUST FOLLOW added to my trading rule... never add to a winning if there's a spike and wait more time for the winning :arrrg: :arrrg:

Know the feeling!

FWIW. also having experienced similar "maybe if I ..." frustration in other areas over the years; on my office and waiting room walls I have placed a foolscap page sized sign, born out of my own frustration, that says.

The rules for success!
1. Learn the rules.
2. Follow the rules until they become automatic
3. When it stops working - Repeat Rule 1

It's there to remind my patients (and me) to do exactly that!

Hey Doc, thanks so much

I shall have a clean out of my indi folder and start over methinks.
Long weekend here in Queensland so I'll have plenty of time. I'm on the Sunshine Coast and I think half of Brisbane is here so probably won't be venturing very far.

I had a sell trade on the AUDUSD yesterday which I'd had running for a couple of days so decided to wait for NFP last night with my finger nervously on the cancel button and ended up doing very well out of it. Not something I would recommend for the faint hearted tho'.

Again many thanks

Graham :good: :D

Bob,

I know you had adjusted where you put your SL using this set up - are you still at 5? After looking back on all my losses - probably 95% of them would have gone in to profit if I had not had the SL set at 5 or 10 or whatever it happened to be. Thoughts??
