Why "## 10.7_10.9 test#2.tpl" display sto level only in D1 chart and not in 4H, and "## 10.10_10.9 ct test 2.tpl" instead display sto level only in 4H chart and not in D1? |

Hi guys I am not keeping up with what is going on here and am merely skimming posts. This one caught my eye. MarketInfo(pair,MODE_POINT) is fast becoming notorious for its ability to return zero. The instant it is used in division, we get the divide by zero error. Much better is to use lifesys's pip factor functionality - available via any of my shells and any ea I have coded within the last two years. Sorry if I am barking at the wrong moon - this can happen when skimming through posts. |

Hello guys! I am sorry for only now taking notice of this thread, but I've been away of the forum and only checking in now and then. I'm getting in touch because I also did some modifications on this dashboard, based on coding by "padnoter", and wanted to share it with you. But this was weeks ago, and since I was still experimenting stuff I didn't want to share an half-baked dashboard, so I wanted to clean up some code, fix things, etc before sharing. Then lots of other issues happened and I had to stop messing up with it. In the meanwhile 10.7 came up, and the all new excitment with all the new indis and templates and all, and I couldn't keep up either with that or cope with the dashboard. But now that I see it here, I think it might be useful to merge some stuff, if possible or if you think it's worthwhile. One of the reasons I was reticent to share it was that since it wasn't me who started to code it, I was just adding patches all over the place to either fix things or change what I didn't like. So codewise... it's a mess and it sucks. I would never code it that way if I started from scratch, or if I knew what I know now. I started doing it because I was tired of flipping through 20-something charts, and even if the indicators give a good reading-at-a-glance there's still a lot of charts to checkout and analyse. So I wanted to be able to see at a glance and in only one place what was going on on the market, and what was worth to investigate further. Also, Even if I use "iExposure_Tickets" to check the trades, I am trying so many things at the same time that the number of trades are way to much to fit on the screen, so the indicator often becomes useless as I can't even see the final balance. And since there are so many trades, I don't even know where the hell I already have trades on. So I wanted to see all that in a Dashboard and adapted "padnoter"'s one to my needs. Anyway, the good things about my version that might be useful: - I fixed the autocurrencies and autosort routines, which were not working correctly. So now I think it all works and you can either enter your own pairs or use all pairs available, autosort them (or not!) and have them all at once in sight - We can see the number of Buys/Sells per pair - We can see the amount of lots invested per pair in those trades - We can see the balance of all the trades per pair, Buys and Sells. (this is necessary because since I am experimenting so may stuff, there is some heavy hedging going on and i need to know what is working best) The good thing about it is that like this I can see which pairs are giving signals, and see immediately if I have already trades on there or not. If there are trades and it's on the correct direction, there is nothing to do there (maybe add some trades if things are going well). If there are no trades then I go to the chart and analyse the situation. If the signal is contrary to the trades I already have in place, I see if it's wise to countertrade (hedge). Another thing I realised was that if everything is displayed at once its waaaay more difficult to see than if ONLY the relevant information is shown. In other words, if there are no trades, there is nothing there to see and it makes it much easier to notice where ARE trades. In the same way, if STOH1 or STOH4 are not crossing up or down, I really don't care about them and it's preferable to not see anything there. Like this it's much easier to notice which pairs are actually having STO crossings. You'l notice there is also a "MA-X" column. That's was supposed to be a triple MA checking to see if price crosses over to the direction of the trend. I ended up just checking when prices crossed the MA 15 line on H1. So it's green if it crossed it going up, and red when it crosses going down. Even if there is no STO signal, there are good chances a MA cross in the trend direction be a good trade, also depending on RSI etc, but that's why you jump to the chart to check it up. The bad things about it: - I just patched stuff over, so it's not streamlined code - I reversed the corner position, didn't like it on the right. Even if the corner input is still there, it probably will mess all the display. - I managed to put it to work up to 3 columns, but you will need a really large monitor to see them and it will be very confusing, even might have some columns over each other. The best is to make it fit in 2 columns. For example, if you have a lot of pairs to check, like 35, it's best to put "18" on "Wrap" - There is a P2W column that was an experiment and should go away. Basically I was calculating by ATR a possible point in price where it would be OK to close the trades in profit, averaging all the positions at stake on a particular pair. So P2W meant "Pips to Win", it's red when it still takes n pips to reach that magic number, green if the trades go so well that it surpasses the desired price. The problem with that is that it doesn't work psychologically!!! Since in the beginning all trades need to struggle for a while to reach the desirable price, most of the time all of those columns are RED... and that's very frustrating. Thus one of the things I wanted to do was to take that column out. It also takes too much space and the whole thing gets too "thick" I am attaching a picture of how I am using it. In this way we can see at a glance and in only one chart: -How the market goes, with CSS and checking the trend indicator -how many trades we have at stake, how many lots, where, and how well/bad they are going -summary of trades in the usual i-profit tracker. In this particular example we can see that it's only worthwhile to check the charts of GBPNZD, USDCHF, Gold and Silver. There's nothing happening on the others. We can also see that I f*cked up big time earlier in the month and now I am recovering (it's Demo account, at least!). We can see that the worse deals are caused by a bunch of bad trades on GBPCAD, GBPUSD and USDCAD. It seems EURJPY is getting back on track (loosing not that much taking in consideration the number of trades). And all that just in a glance in one chart. I attached the indicator as well, if you want to try it out. You'll have to edit the pairs field, or use "autoSymbols"=true. And change the "wrap" filed accordingly in order to have it fit over 2 columns. I wouldn't touch most of the other parameters. Since SpiderX had all this work to make an updated version for 10.7/10.9, I thought it might be useful to merge some of the things with what I already did. For example, if we take out that stupid P2W column, we don't actually need RSI anymore, I guess, and the MA-X is not that useful. So we could squeeze in the M1, W1 and D1 STO values and probably the other STOs as well (I already have there STOH1 and H4) If you agree with the idea that "less is more" and we don't need to display useless information, maybe your chart could have less numbers, which are difficult to read, and leave only the relevant ones, only when the STOs are crossing. I don't know if it's best to implement your code in mine or mine in yours... probably neither... but at least you can analyse the ideas and see if they fit your needs and/or your style. I may implement your stuff one day... but right now I'm swamped with stuff to do and I will probably not touch this until... June, I guess! Sorry for the big post, hope you get something useful from it! |

Hi Steve, Noted and thanks on the feedback. Yes that was the possible reason which resulted in the issue which boldtrader experienced. The latest version of the dashboard have somewhat rectified that issue and probably next version will upgrade to the pip factor functionality. Cheers |
