I seldom trade lower TF 11.0 is the exception and my first run at the 15M chart in over 5 years so I dont have much experience or success at lower levels. However to answer you question on CSS. I was working on but never finished with using the CSS on different levels for a TF. For example if you trade the 15M chart you go up 2 levels TF or the 1H chart and trade in the direction of the 1H chart. Then have CSS set on a lower TF which would be the 5M chart. So lets say on the 1H chart JPY is on top and you want to trade the USD JPY on the 15M chart. When the 5M chart crosses JPY up against the USD, in other words the JPY line crosses up on the 5M chart in the same direction as the JPY is on the 1H chart, you would look for a JPY buy or usd/jpy sell trade. So lets say you want to trade the euro session. Write down in order the the currencies are 2 TF above you are trading. 15M chart write down the order of the 1H chart. Then set the CSS on the 5M chart and when you get a cross going in the same direction as the 1H chart enter your trade on the 15 chart. Whenever they cross back on the 5M get out or whatever parameters you set for TP/SL. |

Hi BOB A few weeks ago you mentioned that you were working on a lower TF CSS (mainly 30mins). Have you abandoned that in favour of 11.0? Just for sake of clarity if I was to trade H1 Time frame, I would need to look at D1 (two levels up) and use a cross of CSS at M30 (1 level down) to determine the direction of the trade. I have been trading H4 with good results and last few weeks have been experimenting with lower TFs of H1 and M30 with mixed result. The problem with lower TF is we are then at the mercy of the brokers dirty tricks department and market tricks of taking out SLs, etc. Kind regards |

Hi BOB For the last few hours I have been testing your method of trading in the direction of 2 TFs above and CSS cross one TF below and it looks promising. Do you have any preferred indis to go with it (e.g. same direction of Daily or weekly STOCH, etc). Kind regards |

I played with it, it looked good but I am not around when the signals hit. 11.0 intrigues me because I can just take 5 minutes at a specific time and set trades and run. I miss too many signals with 10.7/.9 right now so I am working on possibly using an EA. My problem with EAs in China is connectivity. We are often knocked on line here that is why I use a lot of pendings now. However, pendings take constant adjustment or 2nd or 3rd entrances and that became problematic with Cowboy IBFX once they changed policy. I made some money trading, its all in the bank in the USA now and we are looking at buying a house. So I am not heavily trading large amounts of money. I may just take a break. My son is going to Japan in November, my daughter may come in December and I am thinking of a short trip later in Oct. So I may just trade part time for now. I have taught everything I know, the systems work, just do your diligence and trade. People dont understand there are months I dont make a profit, there are months I only make a little and there are months I do well. By the end of the year I see an increase in my account. Most people give up and are onto a new system. I have been doing the 10.0 series for 4 years now. Some think they are different systems when they really are variations on a theme. You look at the original 10.0 series and you will still see parts of it in the 10.7 and 10.6 series. Anyway this is my week off from work and I am just going to enjoy myself. Traded the JPY session today probably wont get to the Euro session, will see when I get to the USA session. |

I have been banking over 100 pips a day with 10.9 for the last 3 weeks. Mind you sometimes I get carried away and start making stupid mistakes which takes a few days or weeks to rectify. IMHO combining 10.9 with your method of going in the direction of MTF CSS will filter out some false moves. Lets see what happens next week. I always remind people that forex trading should be treated as a business and as with any business you have good months and bad months. Nearly all businesses are seasonal. Mind you a lot of times I forget my own advice to my detriment!!! Kind regards |
