Just so you know guys, I am aware that I have broken most flavours of the Dotty EA's. Here is the explanation I just sent by PM to Thomas:

Hi Thomas

It never occurred to me that introducing new variables into HGBnDnSSnFB and referencing them in the library would bugger up all the other flavours of Dotty. I am just sorting that out by adding them to all the other flavours. It is not difficult to do.

Something else I just picked up. Do you ever use an EA's Inputs window? I don't. I just wanted to check the state of one of the inputs and I noticed that extern inputs followed by a //comment caused the variable name to be replaced by the comment in the EA code as well as the library code.

Of itself no great disaster, but it buggers up the user guide with which I threaten our members. I am putting that right as well and will release everything either later today or some time tomorrow.

The latest version of this EA is available in post 1.

All these updates do is tidy up the bloops I introduced by adding a new input to HGBnDnSSnFB and the way the inputs are displayed to the user. You do not need them if you are happy with what you already have.

I've been trying to get somewhere for a few months now, but finally gave up on OOTB. The drawdown never seemed to recover and losses were inevitible.

I gave Wavegarrick's settings a try, with the 20 pip take profit and things picked up, but I was still having problems having trades go with the trend. The trick came when he added the Sixths.

I've let it run for three weeks now on a $10,000 demo account. After a week I was up to $400 profit with little draw down. I decided to make a big run and change the lot size from .01 to .02. Things continued very well and at one point I was up $1,100. If this was a real account I certainly would have closed everything and reset, but I want to see where hands-off will take me. The last few days EURJPY and AUDUSD have taken a real hit so today, as of Friday afternoon, I am standing at $299 profit.

So now, I am going to keep running this demo but will turn on hedging and offsetting and see what that brings.

Nice one, Sam.

I too have come to the conclusion that OOTB does not work. Time and again my demos get stuck with umpteen hedged trades that have as much chance of working themselves out as I have of becoming a 14th century transgender Trappist Monk.

This does not necessarily mean that offsetting/hedging/gridding etc cannot work; just that nobody should expect success using ootb settings.

I have used Leons setting quite a bit and have made money with them. As I mentioned in a previous post - they are definitely NOT set-and-forget.

When using 1 hour with 5 and 15min TF you have to be very careful that trades don't get loaded up near the end of the NY session and in the Asian session when there may be less volatility and price is moving in a range, but based on the previous trend. If that happens then all those trades entered in the ranging market will work against you if price moves against the previous trend in the next London session and/or the next NY session, especially if news events are driving the change in direction.

If I remember correctly I believe Leon mentioned that he only used the settings during the London session.

Sam, nice to see encouraging and positive results coming through. I am following with interest . I actually put this set aside this week because I am testing some more combinations but will definately get back into this next week.

I absolutely agree with you Pakeha. I usually open my pairs up as they come through in London and when I see that my whole basket is in profit or drawdown 2 hours or so into the session I just close the whole basket. I then look for the same sequence in New york.

Because we are looking for small profits we have to be very aware of news events which can make our profits look silly in a few seconds. Of course Rene's "News event monitor" will come in very handy here.
