RJo, Like NT says, SlopeStrength and SlopsValues do not need an 'ignoreFuture' option, its values are always current. 'ignoreFuture' only has effect on candles other than the current one. 'addSundayToMonday' is a new option. We found out that Sunday candles can and will screw the Slope value and pivots on the daily timeframe, other timeframes do not suffer from it. This is why SlopeValues and DWMPivots have this option. Other indicators will follow. Paul |

addSundayToMonday is a good start, but IMO it's still not the "right" answer. In my never-humble opinion, I think a "proper" D1 chart has 5 24-hour bars each week. The basic Cowboy IBFX D1 chart is a mess. Cowboy IBFX is a GMT+0 crim, so the 5pm Sunday NY "market open" happens at 20:00. Since Empty4 is stupid and builds D1 bars from 00:00 to 00:00 regardless of its timezone, that means there's a short 20:00 - to - 00:00 bar on Sunday. It ALSO means the Friday bar is only 20 hours long, from 00:00 to 20:00. addSundayToMonday adds the short Sunday bar into the Monday bar, and (presumably?) treats the chart as if there were 5 bars per week. I think it also causes the weekly pivot calculations to end on Friday's close, instead of 23:59 Sunday. The Monday bar is 4 hrs long and Friday is 4 hrs short, but it's better than it was. The "right" way to do it is to build 24-hour bars, from 5pm NY to 5pm NY (currently 21:00 to 21:00 GMT), so you end up with 5 equal-length 24-hour bars per week. It also means your D1 bars close at the NY "close" -- and the markets DO act differently around the 5pm NY close. Finally, it also means we'd all be looking at the SAME data, instead of getting different values for different crim timestamps. I don't know how practical that is in Empty4. Obviously the D1 chart is still going to be wonky. But most of us look at H4 charts and below when we use the D1/W1 pivots&etc. If the pivot &etc code did the right thing, it would be perfect for H4 charts and below. If that's not practical, the addSundayToMonday is a darn good compromise. |

The addSundaytoMonday function in DWM Pivots allows me to match up my pivots across all br0kers regardless of their fudged up / proper candles. So it does the job for me even if the "right" way to do it is as good old Gazza described. I still wish we were all on the same page with TMA Slope values. I get totally different results across different brokers even if I play around with the addSundaytoMonday opton. I think we've discussed that the TMA Slope value accuracy depends on how much history is saved with the platform. It would be great if someone had 100% history and could provide values to check against. The truth is they are almost all the same but when we are dealing with a difference of .1 to check if things are ranging or trending I'd like to know mine is as accurate and correct as possible. Here's some different brokers values. The upper bottom SlopeValues have addSundaytoMonday set to true for comparison too. For reference Axi is the only one that in this list that doesn't fudge the candles. |

I actually asked this question before on another forum , one answer I got was the following. "It would require the use of some win32 API functions. Not really elementary mql4 but should not be difficult for anyone familiar with win32 programming." Greek to me... |

Well why would we try to get this slope value spot on exact at 0.1 for everyone?? while the 0.4 or 0.8 are not values written in gold. By all means its a lagging Indicator who indicates the strength of the past price action, its maybe far more better to use 0.55 and 0.7 So I would not worry about a difference of a few 0.1 bon weekend, hans.. |

Yes, Cowboy IBFX US is GMT+0. Markets open at 17:00 NY on Sunday, which is 21:00 GMT Sunday, so Cowboy IBFX shows a 3-hour Sunday candle. |
