Yesterday the banks in Cyprus opened, but people were limited to withdraw €300,- a day. No wire transfer abroad. Even funds held by [big] companies suffer under the "everything over € 100.000,- is not yours anymore" rule.

Companies can't pay their employees, go bankrupt etc.

The next country in the EURO with problems already introduced itself; Slovenia.
Last Wednesday the intrest there went up 0.7% on the rumour that people were emptying their bankaccounts.....

How did you escape the bear in your avatar?

Did you ease yourself over the side of the rock and find another way through?

Was the bear pursuing further, or sitting patiently waiting for you to get hungry and desperate, and attempt to get past safely?

Why didn't the person with the camera throw you a rope?

Or was that you taking the photo - something to take back to next-of-kin?

Maybe the bear thought it was too unsafe (even bears are not silly) to walk out on that rock, and gave up?

Good questions, I just like the idea behind the pic. Your choice bear or jump. The real truth is that is the place people go to when Steve bans them from the forum and he takes pics of their last moments of life. :idea:

Had two walks and slept all day. My Chinese friend takes me out to his relative's restaurant for lunch for two days in a row. He always orders stuff that is local and you dont get anywhere else. The noodles are special made from some mountain stream and imported into the town. Tasted good but still taste like noodles to me. Turtle soup, a seafood mush of some kind, have no idea what is in it. Fish with a spicy beef sauce, I think it is beef anyway. I have learned not to ask what is in the food. Special fried rice with chunks of something in it. I just know it is not chicken. Some kind of soup that looks like beef testicles floating in it but I dare not ask. Pigs feet, my mother loved pig's feet, I do not, so i make sure I take the whole meat to eat my one foot but then they give me the last one. In the evening we go t our favorite Western Restaurant in Guangxi Province. Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes or deep fried fish with tartar sauce, etc. So all in all a great weekend so far.
