Hi Qvintus,
On your picture of EU D1 it was a big HGI arrow 10 daily candles after the MA crossed.
Yes thats correct. I does not matter how many candles after the cross. I trade on the first Hgi Trend arrow after the cross. This is just one method.

Anyway now that we have peaky in the picture I will eventually post examples of how I just use peaky(sixths) hgi and the 60 Lwma. Here I dont use the 240Lwma..

A trade I took just today based on the daily 60/240Lwma cross and an Hgi trend signal. I will now also scout the 4Hourly time frame for pullbacks and place trades in the direction of the daily timeframe.
What gives me a level of confidence here is that we are just below my monthly and yearly pivot.

Interestingly on my weekly chart we are also about to have a 60/240 Lwma crossover to the downside. Early days and we could consolidate around this area for a while.

Cheers
Leon

So what I've learned from recent posts (thanks for those) and from my re-reading of the forum is that there are as many ways of using HGI as there are HGI users. These range from "naked HGI" (see signal, trade signal) to the use of sometimes quite complex indicator 'systems' to validate HGI signals. Two extremes with everything else in between.

Which leaves new users to find their own way through this jungle, but as one discovers over time in forex generally, that's probably the best way forward.

As I like simple systems (and I am inclined towards nakedness  , I don't want to get pulled too far down the road of multiple indies, so for now I am being guided by an earlier post from Leon about waiting for the next H4 bar to open and if the signal is still there, only then to proceed with decision-making, probably using something pretty straightforward like S/R levels and dominant trend direction.

I'm also tempted by both Steve and others' views that stops are a waste of time and instead of stops, to leave trades to run until another signal says otherwise. The only problem with that is that I can't monitor HGI signals 24 hours a day. What happens if price suddenly takes off in the wrong direction while I am sleeping? I'd love to hear from Steve how he handles that sort of situation.

Let's see how that goes - any comments welcome!

Its all Good and I respect that. :good:

S/r levels are good with HGI and well I guess one more Indi will do. Peaky (sixths) ;)

Thanks Leon!

Any views on the no stops dilemma I commented on?

Just something I would like to add,

You are what you are. There is no way trading will change anyones personality in a jiffy. I am for example a moving average trader by nature. I am slowly recognizing the power of contrarian trades and a slow learner when it comes to change. Peaky and more recently some other contrarian strats have come to the fore. Steve has opened all these possibilities up to us and it it is starting to sink in. Anyway, nothing here is sucked up. It is all a process of many years of following and taking in trading systems and acting accordingly.

Hi Max
I am going to post the indicator here. Rob Booker made it open to the public and you don't need to to join his forum. The source code is'nt available and I respect that. There could be later versions so please search for it.
