I hope to get out a new template and package that incorporates Hurst with 10.7 intraday and HGI on the high time periods by Monday. Cheers, Doug |

Great! I'll be watching, reading the pdf right now. Already read all the 10.x nanningbob stuff, as well as HGI. |

So the template in the new package has Gann 10.7 on the lower time periods of 5 and 15 minute. Gann 10.7 really does not work well on the 30 minute because there is no real way to set 2:1 intraday Stochs based on that time period. It is an odd ball and does not work well for intraday MTF trading. So I just put a Stochastic 7 on it. I recommend the 15 minute time period as being ideal. The 60 has the new 60 minute HGI 16.00 indicator on it and I am sure this version will need to be replaced as Bob puts out a few newer versions real quickly. It is basically untested as of this package update. The 240 and 1440 have the 15.08 indicator with the Hurst filter turned on. The MTF Hurst Target is set for 60 minutes for time periods 60 and below. In practice I think this should be fairly accurate since the 15 minute is exactly a factor of 4 smaller and should give us a nice target based on the movement of the 60 minute 2:1 and Stoch 7. I have set the other MTF Hurst target to the Daily time period. Using it will depend on whether you want to see the Hurst target on the HGI part of the Template and what period you trade. So it is there as a convenience. If you do not want to use it just turn visualization on for the monthly. Than you still have it if later you want to use it. The Ribbons are back to solid colors. They do not block HGI signals unless HGI is placed on the template before the ribbons. So HGI goes on after the ribbons just fine. I think the 15 minute is the ideal intraday time period to do a MTF approach like 10.7 on. It is a factor of 4 smaller than the 60 minute and the 60 minute is a factor of 4 smaller than the 240. So there is a nice trend/countertrend intraday signal to follow. I find the Stoch 7 neccessary to clear up some flipping 2:1 60 minute signals. I lean on the 60 minute 2:1 signal more than I use to but find the Stoch 7 helps with periods where you may have the 60 flipping north and south not setting it direction right away. Volume remains an essential tool for me intraday. Follow the web site listed in the manual for an understanding of better volume if you are unfamiliar with it. Don't forget to put the include file in the include directory so that volume works properly. So just one template this time. I will be leaving the old package up since it uses 10.7 on all time periods. Some may still want to trade 10.7 rather than HGI. Some day I will clean up post one but for now the new Package is the first one under the post. Some day if Metaquotes ever gets mql5 Draw_filling working in mql4 I will get rid of the histograms for filling the ribbons. However they continue to lie about what actually works in 600 plus Empty4. And as of this time I know no example of fill actually working in mql4. Some say none of the newer draw functions from mql5 work. The the language update of the 600 plus versions to make it mql5 compatible is a joke. I am being nice when I use the word joke. Cheers, Doug |

Great, I haven't seen the Hurst target stuff anywhere yet, I'll read the HGI/Hurst thread. As for the Gann booklet, looks good, I've been playing with it in hindsight, seems really impressive in the 15m charts. Thanks for sharing! ![]() |

The TMA Centered indicators were used by Pedro to model Hurst charts. So Pedro was taking these indicators and using them to model an other system that was quite complex more simply. It was a recognition that TMA Centered worked to do the modeling specifically on the time period it was associated with. I have stuck to the higher time period of 60 and up because this is the model. Pips400 did a nice job with developing a MTF indicator to make this possible. You can use more than 1 of them by using the index to give each a different number. Why I like it so much is that it could be dinamite trading Nadex Binary Options. It can give you a realistic target so you may be able to by options at a better price. Also you will have an idea of when to take profit with both options and regular forex trading intraday. I recommend trading HGI as Bob trades it. It Works. He is the master. However Hurst intraday based on Pips400's indicator looks really nice with the 15 minute. Saying that though this needs to be tested. Cheers, Doug |

Well, I was mostly considering using the 10.7 stoch and your ribbons for 15m. I don't quite get the Hurst signals, since I can't see historical ones, it's a bit confusing at first sight. No biggie, sticking to 4h or daily is fine for now. https://www.mql5.com/en/charts/2833160/ ... d-with-the I like the bands there...you didn't find them useful? |

I debated about whether to use the bands but 10.7 works fine. Why complicate it intraday. Hurst work well with the Fibonacci extension and when based on 60 minutes and up. I recommend trading HGI the way Bob trades it for a good reason. He is the master at trading his systems on Four Hours. It is not just using HGI it is trading it like he does with his layering in of trades based on a long experience with his 10.x systems. Read about how he sets up his trades. You do not need Hurst to trade like this or bands. However I like Hurst and I have stated why. Hey add bands if it helps you but also no that trading HGI the way Bob trades it is masterful. The Hurst filters are on so turn them off if you do not want this filter with HGI. You can take Pedro's TMA centered indicator and study it on the 15 minute but this is not Hurst. They look great on an historical back test but in real time they recalculate these small intraday moves constantly. So I used the 60 minute time period to do Hurst intraday. TMA centered was used to do the model on a specific time period. You can add TMA Centered averages if you want but intraday they break the model. Maybe there is a MTF TMA centered indicator floating around but I did not look for it. I try to keep this thread and the templates used here solid and use other threads for exploration. I think 60 minute Hurst intraday is really cool. It will not capture every intraday counter trend but should work intraday to capture the primary moves ... I Hope. Cheers, Doug |

Excellent, thanks for the help! I'm mostly using the 10.7/10.9 stuff with HGI on top. I've read the manuals and threads, and feel it complements my trading style very well. I calculated a potential of 6200 pips in a single leg of an EURAUD move that took 5 days, if I would have used HGI to scale in like Bob does. Sick stuff! I still am fond of intraday trading, since I first made big money trading the NY open for a month. But I was using VSA, and wasn't as experienced as I am now. Really happy to have stumbled with this forum, yours, Steve's and Bob's contributions, one day I hope to be able to give back. |

Just a little study I did comparing the 60 minute TMA's to the 15 minute TMA's. I used the MTF indicator at the bottom of the post. This is a mladen indicator. Change where it says "current time frame" to minutes... 60 1440 etc to use the MTF function. Looks like the 60 minute will do a good job of capturing the waves of the down trend on the AUDUSD chart below. Yellow and White zigzag looking average is the 60 minute. 3 crosses in this 3 day downtrend. Looks like the 15 would be much noiser with 6 crosses opposed to the 3 of the 60 minute. Time will tell but it looks pretty good. It will be easier to look at all of this once we get back into normal volatility this coming week. Cheers, Doug |
