The settings act similar to Zennors Piproid in that they will stack trades in succession at each 20 pip level until HGB gives the opposite wave. I have tried using a basket TP but why not take advantage of HGB's nice exits and maximize the profits. I have made the trades go to BE at 100 pips so there should never be more than 4 or 5 trades that stand the chance of going negative at any one time. These settings take advantage of the moves in our favour and minimizes the impact of bad signals.

A couple things that I think could make this work even better and more efficient is having the multiple pendings based on ATR like ZP, and Risk based lot sizing for the different currency pairs.

Please note the DD sustained on the account was due to my computer restarting and my Empty4 terminal being shut off for several days. :arrrg: The real DD was around 10%

Thanks Steve, Milanese, Bob, and all who helped put HGI & HGB together.
Hi. Is it to much asking for your setfile?

I'm interested in as well .. of course.
But it seems to me ALoveSvpreme has more a semiautomatic approach rather then a set and forget strategy ? Right ? :?

Yes I have been closing when there is decent profit on the table or if there is big news/NFP, but almost every time I close things continue thereafter and hgb would have closed at a larger profit. I will start another account and leave on full auto.

I will post the setfile this weekend when I am home. :good:

I haven't had luck luck with this, but I have to admit I have not applied the EA consistently. Running one week, off the next week, on again with different settings, etc.

Glad you have got HGB working for you and this a great result

When we get good exits HGB is a great tool. It is this part of the process that I have been digging into.

This week I had an idea from reading posts by Hannele and Crazy Trader at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 8&start=60 which stopped me in my tracks :youknow:

Here is my new chart and indicators with EURJPY on H4 for May as an example of proposed strategy:

I only have the trend arrow and trend wavy from HGI on the chart along with the SSchannel3 v1.02 and ZigZag NRP alerts v1.1.

I have ignore future set to true on HGI v.17.00 so that we can see where the signals actually occured.

1 trade assumed for every trend arrow or wavy where Stochastic 5.3.3 is between 30/70. No Rad or Multitrades.

SL assumed 2+ ATR and move back 10pips behind the SS band manually if further (not where the band is for current candle but where the band was for previous Stochastic high/low).

TP would be where the next W or M forms at the opposite band (I have not marked these points on the chart as hard to be 100% accurate looking back since the band moves with price)

On EURJPY during May there would have been 10 HGB signals than ran to strategy close and 2 that lost to SL (marked on the chart with green tick and red cross accordingly).

Out of the 10 that ran 1 would get out around breakeven from what I can see and another would have been closed at a loss. So out of 12 trades maybe 8 decent winners, 3 lossers and 1 breakeven which is over 70% winners inline with the best that I have seen from HGB overtime and the SS band should offer a stronger TP than waiting for a break against TDMTL on a retrace.

So let's see how June goes. :!!:

Thanks Trader Joe,
I was today trying to figure a way to combine the M+W indi with HGI signals, (my computers are struggling, like Aussie Doc, with the load of M+W even without CSI). This looks like the solution. I have been trading HGI in a similar manner to yourself for some time on higher TFs and the exit is always the question.
Thanks again for sharing.

Yep, I have alerted CrazyTrader to this thread.. perhaps integrating M+W indi as an alert to exit HGB trades may be something worth persuing for the community here if this test works out. Time will tell...

Hi all,

First off my thanks go's to Steve and everyone else involved in developing this EA.

I started testing it today with $50 target daily in mind. so I've tweaked it for that purpose. I am new to HGI, but looking at the charts visually and following the indicator for couple of days, 30min time frame was my choice with 50pips main and 20 pips on multi trades. Turned off Wave trades as they were mostly losers. One trade trend was also my choice for better manageability. For the rest EA functions absolutely great. Used Basket manager set for $25 to close all trades but now $50 since it could of easily hit that target. Eventually all closed now for $80 profit(demo). I selected only the pairs that have above 120 ATR.

I have set it up on a small live account and will provide more updates if successful.

Cheers,

Ross

Nice one Ross and welcome aboard the HGB train. Do keep us informed. There are so many different ways to trade with HGB it's great to see what's working for others.
