This is with the 1v version. Been closing it manually sometimes when the trades are profiting.cyberevil » Thu Feb 25, 2016 4:28 am wrote:That's great!, is this with the Z version? I think the Z version works much better at higher timeframes. Not recommended for lower TF as you get the yellow wave quite quickly on lower TF.lwphoon » February 23rd, 2016, 10:03 pm wrote:
A big thank you to Steve and Cyberevil on this one. Couldn't have a better week of trades if this has been done manually. EA is racking in all the pips.
I've been doing this technique manually on one system and I'm quite surprised how well it has worked on an account that was in DD from $3000 and went down to $2800, so quite a bit of drop. It was a big grid of 30 buys/sells just to test the theory. Just yesterday it has climbed up to $3681 so I closed all pairs to give them a restart. I think this thing might have legsI created manual buys and sells using an older version of the ea. Not with yellow wave option. I'll try to put it into DD again and see if I can repeat it for next week. This test was done using 0.02 lots.
For those thinking about or PM me for my set file. It's been posted here somewhere, but in all reality it's better if you learn the EA and make your own set file because in the long run it'll only benefit you.

I have been back and deleted the more lamentable posts from the end of last week. I have also deleted the attempts to help these lunatics because they would look strange out of context.
Some of you will find your post deleted and you are suddenly unable to post again without it first being read by a moderator. That is because I think you are an international-standard waste of space and I do not want to hear from you again.
This thread is open.

V2 is in post 1. I have added the option not to trade the Sunday candle requested by someone last week. I have also added a Monday start hour - 24 hour local time as usual.
Watch the defaults folks. They are how I am trading on my live account. They may not suit you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Live trading results this week, the biggies + GJ:
Ok in themselves those results, but they do not tell the full story. I got caught by the gbp reversal on Thursday. You can see in this picture the yellow vertical line that marks the start of the Asia session on Thursday (Wednesday night here in the UK):
Ignore the moving averages. I also have HGB'n Ma trading on the account (I will talk about that in the other thread) and I want them on my charts for reference.
The HGI signals that generated the sells that got mangled by the reverse are no longer visible. We can see the damage the reversal did to the trades. Then you can see the dying swan act on Friday that GU is sooooo good at. This won back most of the pips lost on Thursday. The 3 level semafor is where I closed the trades manually.
Could I have avoided Thursday's bloodbath: Here is the chart pulled out and everything but the yellow vertical line removed: Had I looked at that chart, I would have seen how the market had plunged down through the two support levels I have joined with the trendline and formed a new low - a very low low. A retrace was inevitable, if anything can be thus described when talking about the train wreck that is retail Forex trading.
Perhaps I should have seen it coming but I did not look. Hindsight is always 100% accurate.
We would be really interested to hear from anyone who used longer term analysis to stay out of the sells on Thursday, and what methods you used.
Fascinating to see how that previous support became the resistance the market bounced off to initiate Friday's plunge. I bet really good manual traders made a bomb at the end of the week.

Thanks for the updated new V2 Steve...
I only changed to the Daily TF on Thursday, so I didn't have a trade.
It would have been interesting to see what would have happened had I started the week on the Daily?
Oh well, time will tell as I will be as from tomorrow using V2...
Cheers

I suffered some losses on Thursday as well as you can see in the above. I changed the EA from version 1v to 1z on Thursday however still with the same settings. Typically I would close the trades manually near any support or resistance but missed closing the trades out on Thursday night. However on Friday, made some significant pips to recover the losses on Thursday; see below.
Overall still ended the week pretty good.

Hey Steve.. great post.
We would be really interested to hear from anyone who used longer term analysis to stay out of the sells on Thursday, and what methods you used.

On H4 I use 6 & 12 period LWMA, Hurst Target and 6 period TrueSlope for the medium term view and D1 with 7 & 14 periods for the longer term view. Only trading when the medium view agrees with the longer would keep you out of retraces like this and is in line with Bob's old teachings using Weekly and Daily STO - I just prefer using slope.
When I have used your EA's in the past I have used the built in slope filters to trade this way .. the only limitation I found was the fixed slope period per timeframe - I think either 15 or 20? The option to adjust this would give you a lot more filtering flexibility.
I also keep an eye on TDMTL breaks against the trend as a last call for exits.
Hope this helps.. template and indi's below.

Hi Buddy this is an anomaly that occurs in forex.....thursday is usually retrace or reversal day so caution to the day. not always the case but a probability....it is like a breather for the weekending move...as Steve has mentioned on occasions, when trends occur u are likely to see a full bodied weekly candle. so friday is the crucial move for the weekending close.lwphoon wrote:I suffered some losses on Thursday as well as you can see in the above. Just a few things we need to consider when running Ea's...there will be a point at which we need to intervene manually',,,anyway I am glad you have recovered well

Be careful because Wednesday can be trend reversal day as well. All really depends on how far the pairs have moved by Wed/Thu...to trigger reversal/recovery.SteveHopwood » Sun Feb 28, 2016 8:47 pm wrote:Nice one. Thanks.
