For Sunday night I hope to get a limited live version going using 4-hour charts with a weekly superslope. I know it's still very early, but on my $1,000 investment, I'm up about $75.00 in five full weeks of trading. That's 7-1/2%, and I know a lot of that can disappear quickly when there is a bad week, but I couldn't be happier with how it has gone so far.

Not enough hours or demo time to test everything I'd like, but I'm not using Buy Low, Sell High as a filter, and it would be interesting to know long term if that would work out better.

I've done a lot of manually closing of trades, especially when big news is coming up and my trades are in profit. Hard to say if that has served me well or taken away potential profit, but I hope to keep learning as I go.

Happy trading!

Hi all,

Continuing on from my post on Fri Aug 04 this setup is still gaining ground.

I am now using MilaneseAPTM to manage trades set by HGBDSSFB (setfiles attached)

I have noted that the weekly CSS on a number of pairs are starting to cross-over. This will likely lead to a period of drawdown for this setup. I welcome this as I would like to see if the gains out-way the loses.

Would be interested if others have noted a change in sentiment in the market that corresponds to the weekly CSS?

Cheers Richard

Awesome tight equity curve there... I agree with you about market change...a lot of pairs have been stretched and on their way back towards centre now. Time for trend traders to take a holiday

Thanks for the feedback TJF

HGBDFFB closes trades on a weekly CSS crossover (then, as programmed by SH, it automatically opens a trade in the opposite direction). Will be interesting to see how this controls drawdown so will keep the system running

Cheers Richard

Hi Richard,

Wow, stunning results! Keep up the good work!

It goes to show that this EA is very, very versatile. I'm looking at a few other variations for future testing, but your results are hard to argue with. I think the next couple of months will really tell you a lot. Hope we can all keep learning from you and with you along the way!

I know, it's like watching paint dry, but this was the system I was looking for. If it keeps creeping upward, it may make it into my main trading accounts.

Trading in the Middle Six full weeks of live trading with my $,1000 investment.
After being down about 1% most of the week, Thursday night saw a pop to about a 1% profit. That was good enough for me and I closed all trades and shut down the EA for the remainder of the week. Hard to say if it would have done better to leave everything open through Friday, but I've made that mistake a lot of times in my earlier trading days. 1-2% drawdown becomes 1% profit, at which point I would usually assume it is about to bust out for a 5-10% profit. Bust was usually the right word, but not in a good way...

Net $10.32 profit for the week. Now up $ 86.14 after six full weeks, a cool 8.6% return on my original $1,000. Can HGBDSSFB keep up the good work?

Happy Trading!

Awesome. And proof that a good EA in the right hands can generate returns that fund managers can only dreams of!

Hey TJF,

Thanks! :) It's your ideas and Steve's hard work with just a little twist of my own. One of my bigger questions is whether the EA can survive those big SL numbers (I'm using 2.5x Daily ATR). I've had a few trades that went all the way to the SL on their own before getting closed as part of a batch close, but in most cases so far, price takes enough time to reach the SL that SuperSlope has time to change color, and on a small pull back, a trade opens in the opposite direction. The profit it generates is a lot less than the loss, but it helps mitigate how big a loss it would be otherwise.

In a lot of cases, I've closed baskets of trades where a few individual trades are doing poorly and seem destined to hit their SL, but the basket of trades has gotten to break even or a little above, so the losing trades get cancelled out, and more importantly, closed before they can do any more damage.

If I can free up the CPU testing time, I'd like to run the same setup in a demo totally hands off while I'm doing my thing live. I've been patting myself on the back for all of the interference in hanging on to profits, but in the back of my mind I'm always wondering if I would have been more profitable if I hadn't interfered. Time will tell!

Have a great weekend everyone!
