Yes Gary, I seriously follow your thread on that subject.
I have to try it by myself to fully understand.

No more holidays if we are able to trade any kind of market !

Can anybody make an indi of the differential of the slope?

It's certainly possible, but why!? It's easy enough to look at the slope and see if it's increasing or decreasing. About as easy as looking at an indi that tells you the same thing. If it's so flat that you can't really tell if it's going up or down, then I'd say you should look elsewhere.

Now I'd love to have a version of Baluda's dashboard that shows rising/falling vs. direction, but he hasn't posted in a few weeks and I haven't had time to dig into it myself. It's not real obvious how you'd sort the strength of the signals. I think the optimum tends to be when the trend reverses and until the new move stalls, but it still needs more study.

Angle of direction
which would correspond to something like the acceleration of the slope in a direction. :?:

If you calculate the angle/direction -- and there are many ways to do that, not all of which will work well with a noisy signal -- then I think the best opportunities arise when the D1 "angle of the slope" crosses from positive to negative, or negative to positive. That's a "peak" or "valley" in the D1 slope, which indicates a change in the D1 trend. Then look for a peak/valley in the H4 slope for an entry signal.

The biggest trick of this is that the D1 trend doesn't stay steady during a sustained move. Once the lookback window contains only the move since the trend change, the D1 slope flattens out or even peaks and draws back. So I think we should stay in the trade until the D1 slope flattens or turns, and then do something like a trailing/jumping stop until the market actually turns. I'm still not sure on that part.

Gary - I don't think the above method is the best one (Peak D1 then Peak H4) take a look at AUDCAD for example - if you followed that method you would be in fairly deep drawdown before things turned around. That's not to say it doesn't work - just you would sometimes have to deal with some deep-ish drawdown before you recovered. Also not all D1 peaks and troughs are equal - you need some kind of a guide as to what qualifies and what maybe doesn't..

I actually think the entry is fairly easy and I will post a few example of what I have been doing and the results on the slope thread as I have been following this discussion closely but we are in danger of hijacking the Bob Jem Shelley Basket thread :?
