@boldtrader Thanks for such a brilliant (as always) analysis. You are a true inspiration. The confluence of 50% fib retracement with 4 octave was very strong. I´m trying to get some information about some of your techniques to understand better your points. I agree the gap will be filled. When? In a couple of weeks probably. As I know you have showed some respect before for some mystical approaches, I dare to confess I also use some of them. I started just for fun or curiosity but I have become an enthusiastic of some hermetic stuff. I read some time ago a biography of Gann and admired his young years devoted to old egyptian and greek mathematics and his incredible talent to forecast price action. I believe there is a secret order in nature and chaos is only the name we use for our ignorance of this order. Fibos and fractals are a good example. You can find them in a shell, a sunflower or in the shape of a galaxy; also in price action. So, I´ll keep secret the source of my forecast but... the gap will be filled 24th june. (The ribbons in my chart come from the new indi Bob and Tomasso posted sunday: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... p?id=35078 It´s a kind of cloud created by 240 & 60 that I´m finding very intuitive for a first sight reading of the charts. The way price fights to cross the cloud gives a good hint to understand what is happening. Trying to learn the back to the mean style using ATR channels I see how important is the 240 slope. First thing I do now when I see a chart is to watch the slope. If 240 it´s flat (as in EURUSD or most of JPY crosses now) I consider use ATR channels in a 'back to the mean' style. If the slope shows a trend I try to catch the swings. Good thing of 10.4, Edsel and all the rest is that, even if they are trend following systems, give us the hints to know when we must switch to range trading. All the best for you. |

Sooner or later, we will all have to realize that CSS is of the greatest benefit only when there is a decent trend going. There may be the odd pair that still runs and runs but there generally is a tone to the market that is fairly well measured by the Global Market Trend indi. If that thing is pointed downwards, you should look away from the CSS. Even when it is pointed upwards, if it is not above a certain threshold, you should still look away. You should always bear in mind that CSS is not telling you to go trade but rather to GO LOOK. Go look, using other parameters, to see if it is the right time to play the strength card. If it is, you are in business and some nice and fast pips are coming your way. If it isn’t and you play the card anyway you are probably going to find yourself in deep doo-doo! Since the turn of the year, there hasn’t been a single week with what you could call a decent trend. Anyone who has been trying to use the CSS in this time will probably testify to this. |

The markets have been ranging a lot that is true there have been some trends though the aud has had a nice run up and the cad a nice run down and both were seen on the CSS. The Euro also took a dive which was talked about especially by AL and CSS showed that one also. CSS also tells you that a market is ranging which we are seeing now with everyone heading back to the center. However if you read my CSS report this week I pointed out the gbp/nzd cross in the center and have done very well buy gbp/nzd. That has accounted for over 1/3 of my profits this week. Being Easter week the markets were expected to be sluggish but seeing that gbp and nzd crossing should have gotten you some really nice trades. Using the CSS reads with 10.7 allowed me to do 4 nice profitable trades this week on the 1H chart. Sorry if you missed them. |

Wow is all I can say about 10.7! As Bob says, it (10.7) will compliment just about any trading style!! and he is right. At the moment there are 10.7 signals everywhere!! I used the Daily pivot and 'trade lines' as it was put...now with 10.7 Sto with Alerts, we are spoilt for choice. Attached is the AudUSD 1Hr chart showing Sto entries Thanks to everyone who has put this togehter!! |

For those interested in going to the lower time periods of 15 and 30 minutes let me show you what I have done so far. On the lower time periods you are going to have a lot of noise. You have a choice to go higher to trade and let the candles mop up this noise or adjust your indicators. There is always going to be static. You make your setting longer. Counter intuitive to many. Your using your indicator to mop up the noise so that it gives you a solid signal. So I have taken the standard stochastic defaults of 7,2,2 and went radical 18,2,4 . First the standard and second the longer settings. Standard setting My settings The higher you go the faster the setting can be set but I still reset the 60 minute and 240 just very slightly. When you use these slower settings than the alarms are not as frequent and when you get one your going to want to seriously investigate. My ribbons and volume indicator can than be checked for confirmation making the whole process a series of simple steps. Bob what I am seeing so far is remarkable. I think adjusting the setting will reduce false signals on the lower time periods and you will get signals just as solid because of the filtering as you do on the higher time periods. So far anything I have seen filtered out would not have had the volume or ribbon support to trade. The ribbons are able to trade counter trend or trend. Still catching up but this looks very good. A simple indicator that everybody is familiar with using put on steroids. Fabulous. I will be implementing the 10.9 on the Daily for convenience once all the lower time periods are finished. I am not sure if I need Demark but he would be helpful on the 240 and maybe the 60 minutes. The ribbons draw their own lines Doug |

Correct Bob. I have been busy CT trading so I would have missed out on any trend trades that presented. I have traded most of the pairs that broke the bounds of the H4 MTF TMA Bands lately and every one of them has been a good trade. I’ve just taken a GN sell and waiting on EN. The markets have gone a fairly long time without really trending. Could something major be altering somewhere? Maybe we will see some decent trends develop after the Easter. |

There is just so much uncertainty out there right now. USD was suppose to rise but hasnt. Euro hasnt dipped as much as expected. JPY sells have stalled. AUD and NZD economies are doing much better than expected with the slow down of the Chinese economy. For fundamental traders you couldnt ask for a worse nightmare. AND we must remember the UKRAINE/RUSSIA elephant is there in the room and the market is not sure what is going to happen there next. |

Well, the markets have certainly been jittery of late. It's been pretty much a ding-dong affair for at least 5 months running. |
