Haven't seen this type of indication son the CSS daily before.
After a strong Sept and Oct moves the market has consolidated until the next news event that blows it out of its doldrums. The indi will move when the markets move. It should be the last good move of the year if it happens. Otherwise wait until Jan.

OK I see noone picked up the baton for CSS so here goes. I am using the 24 pairs like in the past.
Because of the huge JPY move it kind of distorted the whole thing. Made everyone else go up while the JPY went down big time. This probably will carry for the week so definitely look for JPY sells. If the massive move continues just jump in and take the ride.

AUD broke above the 20 line and is the strongest and NZD will probably follow but weakly.
USD is moving up again and should be fairly strong the rest of the year.
CAD and GBP are moving up also but I think that is more caused by the JPY fall.
EURO and CHF flattened out they should continue their flatness with a possible move towards weakness. Right now I am not a big fan of the euro going down much further but its still possible. So for the week look for:

aud, usd strength
cad, gbp continue to move up but not as strong.
eur, chf, nzd flat
jpy down down down.

Have fun trading.

The yen slumped by 2.94% last Friday and by 3.7% in the last week. The Dollar Yen rose to 112.32, the highest level since 2008 and 8.4% higher than it was six months ago. Now that the market understands the determination of BOJ there will certainly be more space open for the Yen’s depreciation. The long term target level for the Dollar Yen can be probably set beyond 120.

Time to jump on the YEN weakness bad wagon again. I see this move going for several months. Now that doesnt mean there wont be retracements but the overall trend will be down for the JPY across the board.

Hi Bob,

Realistically how much lower can they allow the JPY to depreciate ?
Wont it hurt them in the long run ?

cheers

They have no choice. They are financing their govt. borrowing almost half of what they spend. They have almost borrowed their entire nations savings. No one is going to lend a country money at 230-240% debt to GDP ratio. Japan is bankrupt. Their population is retiring and people want their savings to retire on. So print and pay them back. When bonds go on sale the only buyer now is BOJ. They have to depreciate the YEN enough so their products are so cheap that people will buy them again. Kind of like China in reverse so they can go forward again. They have been in stagnation going on 30+ years. You want to know what it would be like putting a currency on the gold standard? Look at Japan where there has been no inflation. Take a 30K Toyota and get it to sell for 15K you have a revived auto industry again.

Hi Bob,

On Friday, ADR values on JPY pairs were just amazing.

A good reminder for every trader to trade with caution, to exit the market before any major announcement, and to trade with a Stop Loss.

Hi Bob,

Do you think the mid-term elections in the US will impact the US dollar bull run ?
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/01/us/po ... .html?_r=0

Apparently some statistics guru put the republican's chance of winning at 75%.
If they do, the US would be left with a president who would be unable to effectively govern the country.
That doesnt look too great on the US dollar.

Cheers
