Yes Steve I am, but I have to admit that you Brits have a far greater command of the English language than us Yanks And thanks for the update ... |

You wouldn't say that if you heard the average Brit town centre on a Saturday night. Your chief emotion would be, "Half a million years of human evolution have led to that?" I have no great command of the lingo; I simply do invective reasonably well. |

Hi Jjasper7, yes, the results are very extreme to say the least. Please read and review some of slowkey's results. Slowkey is using different settings to me, it's pointless we all test the same settings on the same criminals, then adjust the view in the history tabs to the latest trades and start looking at those for winners, and then check the settings.\ you will still have to play around with your criminal, thats why i am testing so many, they vary from crim to crim, and there's no way of telling how yours reacts with the EA's you might put on. Its then nice to share your results and then we all get a little wiser about how it all works. i am also trying Eval's settings and methods. i find his 60-5 method too slow for me, so i've tried some 15-1's, and mostly 5:5's , there are some 15:5's also, but you would have to follow the results weekly to see what is profitable and what settings are used. The comment section is small and i've tried my best to fit whatever i can so u can get a better idea. you can always pm for better settings but it's best you try out yourself, otherwise you'll never be able to understand whats going on. Learn one EA well from Steve, and you'll be able to understand the majority of his with great ease. As for the Symphonie system, yes it is a very good system if traded correctly. Please do not think this is the holy grail. You need patience and to follow the thread with Eval and pay attention to what the traders are doing, and how they trade. Read post 1 many times and then after a year or so , when you win 70% plus on your demo, then try real, it's another animal. Tonight i got caught on both my real accounts going north , when we had a sudden drop on the eurusd. I dont like cutting losing positions, so yes, i got a few 'floaters' out there. all my symphonie EA positions hit the stop loss, and closed, right. okay, but i'm not running the Ea on my live accounts. it's not ready, and probably a long way to go. Nothing could have predicted tonight, but read Evals methods and Stop Loss will always come up as vital. With the EA, i am trying not putting SL's, because it's testing, and i'm waiting for the EA to pick up a change and take a position or close one, all with settings. Thats just my 'style' of trading. you need to find your's and see how it fits. Thats exactly what we're doing here with the EA, trying to find where it fits in and the best way to trade it, while still trying to keep , as best/close as possible to Eval's system. If all was so easy ,we'd all be on an island somewhere. The best has now coded this system, and Steve has been very kind to all of us by sharing this, we need to show our appreciation by helping Steve to help others also. If we can get to the 70% success mark, i think we can call this a huge success, but read Steve's posts to other members and you'll get a much better example of what EA's are all about. Eval spent months to come up with his manual system, and did'nt thumb suck the first indicators he found. He has put a lot of time and effort to create his system. Now we are starting to try and find an EA that can replace a human, with numbers and settings and candle shifting and periods, you get the idea. !! It's the 'style' or 'way' of trading that makes Symphonie so successfull, and read carefully, no-one will tell you to trade live immediately. now imagine trying to do that on an EA, it cant predict the market moves, no-one can, so lets get the closest we can to a successfull EA, and then maybe Eval can endorse or recommend the EA. until then, we have to try and get it to work with it's own, 'style' by playing with the settings. REad Steve3s' post 1, this is experimental, and cannot be traded live. sorry for the long reply. hope you understand a little better. cuzgeorge |

Hi Steve,Slowkey Me again, hen pecking at the Keyboard again. i wanted to ask you about the exit strategies. I'm setting up some new settings on some of the losing positions and was wondering about leaving all SL and TP settings to '0'. It seems symphonie will close those positions when the opposite signals are picked up and then wait for a full set to re-enter in the opposite direction, assuming the market reverses. Does this sound daught to you? maybe i'm tired!! hehe. i'm going to try this out on a few, and it all sounds right, just hope i dont' blow a few demo accounts aswell. regards cuzgeorge |

George all my v3 Demo's 60-5 and 60 going to the following settings. Extreme r 27 s 22 u 8 Emotion ssp 4 kmax 50.6 bars 3000 Sentiment p 11 Trendline ccip 18 atrp 5 I may change the 60 v3 with 1440 rsi to a 240 v3 setup using rsi for comparison to my original 240 setup. The rsi 1440 filter will be set to a 15 rsi period if I do that. Need to get to bed but these setting seem to be all around more forgiving and allow me to use a rsi filter even on the 60-5. I have only really looked at EurUsd with these setting so do not know how much they will hold up across all pairs. |

Hi Slowkey, here's my thought on your settings; i'm glad we are not using the same, as this will defeat the whole purpose, so exteremer i left standard, no change on my side.12,12,5. emotion i always leave on 7,50.6 but here , you must change this to '300', way too many bars and just taxes your computer to death causing random stutters and hang ups. you'll also find this setting in the EA, i've changed all my indis and EA's that have this set to 3000. sentiment i left period at 12 trendline i vary between 30, 5 and sometimes 20, 5 and exterems 45,10. depends on the volaitility of a currency, this is very much a 'homework' area for us, and have'nt found a good setting yet to stick to. i like your idea on the RSi, i like to play with that too, i have started using on some charts a tdPeriod of '9', i know its alittle too fast, but i get action. then 15 and 18 are good for me. i tried the standard 21 and higher at 25 for the metals, but no success there yet. all the charts i use RSi on, have the TF at 60. remember, i'm going for the short bursts and more positions. i have'nt gone lower than this as i feel it's too low and then i might as well stick to the cycler for signals only. i have googled the rest, inlcuding slowkety and have made minor changes to them when i use them in a chart. i dont recall now and too many to look up, but if you have the time, check out the results on my side of the myfxbook, and you'll be able to figure out my comments section. PM me if you cant find the comments. regards and good luck slowkey George EDIT! i am only running Steve's latest EA. i had changed his previous one to look back only 2 bars, but that has fallen away now, and i prefer the new setup for this EA |

So far they look good George... just up to take some tylenol and back to bed. Yea I know. Don't need all those bars. I am up over 80 pips on three trades that are still open. Will see. Anything is an improvement on the 60-5 for me. I think this extreme indicator will work better all the way around. Anyway two of these trades are free now with the BE at 5 pips. |

Hi Steve, i need to ask you for some help here, i set some of the charts to run with-out stop loss and TP., thinking that the exit strategy will take care of that. i watched a few go as far as $30 profit, only to come back and SL at 0. is this similar to the problem yesterday where you fixed a bug. Also, i noticed this on option 1 and 3. I have'nt found what happened with option 2 yet, but results are visible on the myfxbook posted before. all the '0's in the history tabs profit column were in varying profit, definately above my BE of 5 pips. Is it my mistake if i never put a $ value, as i left some of the charts at '0' and others i had the equal amount of $5 as the pip value.? It's almost as if the new indis are not communicating with the EA, or the EA is not acting on the info received. your thoughts please? regards cuzgeorge EDIT: Steve, also, when a signal changes and go's the opposite way, the Position does'nt get stopped at and it continues to free-fall, with out at least taking a position for the new, correct way. i've checked my settings and they are more sensitive than normal. i will post the link to the myfxbook for you to peruse. regards again cuzgeorge link http://www.myfxbook.com/members/cuzgeor ... emo/275462 |
