Here is a little thingy to watch out for folks.

I want to see what happens if I leave HGB'nG unattended on a platform trading most of the pairs on offer, so I started a new demo today.

I looked in later to see an alert with lots of failed GU order sends because of 'invalid stops, then two grids of buy and sell stops all sent at the same price and triggered at the same time. I am using D1 20 period ATR to calculate the distance between trades and noticed that the distance between trades was showing as zero.

I checked the D1 chart and found < 20 candles on it, so the call to ATR was returning zero. It is worthwhile just checking when you start a new platform that there are sufficient HTF candles available for whatever it is you need to do. A quick chart refresh solves the problem.

I agree at least that this EA is the best I have produced. The combo of HGI, cyberevil's idea about adding the grid and subsequent development have turned this into a profitable tool.

People just starting out with HGB'nG, notice the downward bumps in ALoveSvpreme's graph. Those represent trades that closed at a significant loss. This happens and you have to be able to accept them. Anybody starting for the first time on Thursday last week could easily have abandoned the bot immediately; that would have been a mistake.

The ea only reads the 3 level indi if there are open trades. If you are disturbed by that blank space on your chart where the display is showing the Semafor status, then go to line 2073 and add this, then F7 to recompile.

May I ask which version of HGB'nG you were using (as there were some updates on february)? Or did you update HGB'nG as newer versions were available?

This is good stuff, thanks for posting your test results. It's good to see results like these, specially when done hands off :hi:

It goes to show people that you don't need to be messing with the set file. You just need patience and give the ea a good try before giving up on it. This is as good as it'll ever get for a lot of people in forex trading (for the noobs) and you don't have to fall for the $99 EAs that are being sold online. :smile:

What I really like about this ea is it's ability to trap the market in such a way that if you really wanted to come out positive on a certain trade you could do with very little manual intervention.

On live accounts please make sure you guys are keeping an eye on your platforms in case it hangs or if you're using VPS and it gets shutdown or restarted for whatever reason.

V 2a is in post 1, with the option to turn off Thursday trading.

There is a new input into the semafo section. From the updated user guide, referring to closing trades on a 3 level signal:
  • CloseOnlyInPositivePips: this is for those of us using hedging. We do not want buy trades closing on a high semafor, or sell trades closing at a low semafor, unless these trades can be closed in positive pips profit. This input tells HGB'nG only to close a group of trades if that group is in positive pips. Stop and limit traders might want to enable this.

G'day Pat, wow, excellent results!

I have decided not to post my results at the end of the week as the weeks can vary due to different news events and the like. So I will post in the beginning of April to see how March went...

Also, for the noobies out there, Steve is right in what he said about the down bumps in ALoveSvpreme results. It is very important to focus on the end result. Sure, there will be losses, it is inevitable, but the important thing is that you end in profit! Even if it is as small as 30pip in profit after 1 month, it is 30pips more than you had at the beginning of the month...

Fortunately for all of us, this EA give much more... PATIENCE is the KEY!!!

I have a demo running trading most pairs without manual intervention - the results are mind-boggling so far, but that is not the point of this post.

Looking through the charts I noticed one hedged pair with a few trades having a stop loss repeatedly inserted then deleted. This is caused by the management function being called when the trade is in profit and I have BreakEven set to 'true'.

Fix this by going to line 2751 where you will find this code block:

Replace it with
