... in fact just looking at my account history the two GBP trades I had were opened from 10.22pm and 11.25pm and closed with a healthy profit at 2.07am basket right during the spike. Looking at your screenshot you didn't have these trades which would have nicely counterbalanced the drawdown on your other pairs and prevented the SL hit?
Correct. I did not have those trades. Only trading the first 3 hours of each session.

Yes. I updated my set file to the full 9 hours for each session on Thursday as on reflection felt safer not having 6hrs dead time with open positions... in this case seems to have played out.

Once this is nailed and working we could pool from everybody willing to chip in and split 3 ways.. Mathias for willingness to jump in and modify his dashboard to suit this project, Bob's chosen charity Compassion on behalf of Bob and Baluda without whom we would not have this indicator and Steve as a thank you for this space for us to share.

I will have to ask Steve but perhaps he'd be willing for us to all just chip in directly to him and we can trust him then to split the 3 ways.

Hope that sounds sensible, of course any donations are optional but I know I'll be trading this live and anyone else doing so has a good chance of making lots of ££ from this.
Just a quick shout out to say thanks to everyone that contributed.. Steve's done the tally so far as:

GBP 416
USD 166
AUD 60

This has now been split as agreed and Steve's kindly given his share to NSPCC and Bob's to Compassion.

So nice we've not only got an awesome EA with so many options we have also been able to give something back. Cheers to all.

:good: :yahoo:
Hi All!
Thanks, and it was a great initiative to split it like this!
We have exciting times ahead!
And I do hope (and think) that the EA will meet our needs :)
Have a great weekend!

Desi it all depends on the ATR you are using. If you are using 1% risk per trade on 2 x 20 day ATR then you would need an account of @ 3000. As per the method I proposed.

The reason for this is so that you can as near as possible achieve the same risk over all pairs traded.

Small accounts like 500 will give heavy weighting to the higher volatility pairs because the minimum lot size is 0.01 lots and I'm talking Global Prime here.

Thank you Zennor for the detailed explanation. Appreciate it.

I kept my demo running right up until close on Friday and allowed a basket to stay open and exposed over the weekend to see if any gaps would pose a problem .. and no problem just a few more baskets closed! The total now stands at 22. That's +22% since last Tuesday night.

I have made a few adjustments for this week now too. I have updated with Mathias' latest draft and reduced the number of pairs slightly to 19. I have also reduced the risk slightly from 2% to 1.5% per H4 ATR and also reduced the basket TP from 1% to 0.75% to match. I have also now set the basket SL at -15%

I have added M5 HGI signals as trade trigger to see whether this helps or narrows it down too much. My aim is to try and find a bit more precision on entries and keep the max drawdown under 10% regardless of news.

Here is my set file which will startup again after 00:00GMT

Awesome TJF. How did you select your pairs? Based on last weeks performance?

Cheers

Actually just to fall in line with another strategy I am trading live but the few NZD AUD pairs I have taken off were not winners last week with the exception of AUDUSD so if I had selected from that list the choice would be similar although in fairness one week of data is not enough. I have just done it for convenience.

I am continuing with last week's set file but same pairs on another account too as a baseline so that I can see whether adding the M5 HGI makes much difference either way. So far I have two same trades on both just opened.

Hi!
You are correct. All other indicators are already coded into the EA.
But if you want to follow up a specific symbol on a separate chart and see the graphs of the used indicators then you will need that separate.

Edit: There is actually one other external indicator and that is MADDY.

Using the Do Exit to True Open Trade to false ... will it close trades not opened by the EA ?
