This is what I am trying these sets for .. to see what happens. Although the recovery option doesn't have much to do with it as using the symbol close is pretty much the same thing. Just not differentiating between 1 trade being open or 5 etc that's all. Except the more trades open the less average pips they need to close in profit so thats the idea with recovery anyway. With this particular set for example the question is how often will a pair go 500+pips outside of its yearly range without retracing 50% + £5 to get closed? And if this happens regularly then what I am I going to do to do about it You'll notice the similar set in our basket forward test. Where I am comparing H1 with and without Superslope. I did not expect without to stay ahead for long but right now it is and I am interested to see how this progresses. Being able to test all the possibilities with this EA is already making me question things I have relied on and that have been successful in my manual trading. And that is a very helpful aspect to all this. It is good to question things even when they are working! |

So I must not be understanding the recovery. I assumed that would place a recovery trade if price moved against a position, thus reducing the required retrace net As an example my account trading this set has two usdcad longs open and price has moved 50 pips against I thought with recovery off it wouldn't place any buys down low. Is that not how it's working |

Nevermind. I reread the manual to understand a bit better. |

Yes you were just mixing up recovery and fillthegap functions of the EA. Glad you remembered the user manual |

Just to update I've now binned the above set because although still moving forwards my H1 only set with the same settings apart from 50 fillthegap has overtaken it. And this is the one in my basket forward test. Anyway this one will continue running for all of September so will keep reporting back. Below are the results for this week. |

I have been using the MTF and ended this week Monday to Friday 24H just above 1000 pips, will try just the H1 next week. Thanks, TJF I was only today running same set with D with 848 bars - because I noticed that would of kept me out of the usdcad that stole over 300 pips from me since yesterday. So I will run both next week 365 bars and 848 and see what happens. |

Hi all Just thought I would update my test using TJF weekly set from 3 weeks ago. Pretty much hands off. Drawdown was out there a bit in the beginning Happy if this level of progress continues. Included setfile for the pundits. |
