Quick question:

Because I work in shifts (3 different shift), some days I will have to use the New York session. Which pairs would you guys use if you where to use the EA during the NY session? Or how would you go about finding which pairs are best to trade with this EA for that session?

Thanks in advance, wish you all a great day!

PS: I hope I'm not out of line with my questions, wouldn't like to get the Steve's boot up my ass :mrgreen:

EDIT: I found this site http://market24hclock.com/trading-day.html , according to their graphs of volatility, I would guess GCHF; GY; UCHF; GU; UCAD; EU. Or maybe I should get a ATR indicator that only measures a certain time range? Does that even exists? Or am I over thinking this? Thanks.
US session trade USD and CAD combinations if the daily range not exceeded. Sometimes CHF pairs can be used too.

Hi DSU,

Could you post some details of you UK session set-up, I have been trying a variety of setups, but seem to continually get triggered into trades to only have a small pull back stop me out....I cant quite work out if I'm entering too early, too late, wrong pairs, or too tight SL....!

I'm currently trading Euro, Pound, EJ and GJ with 12pip TP and 6 pip SL no trail....!

I have had both Euro and EJ stopped out today...

Also, I'm trading the start of Frankfurt for the first 2hours at the moment, however i have also traded the start of London, with similar results....

Regards

Interesting results. I wont recommend IC Markets demo. They are useless because the charts have a lot of missing ticks. Most of the time the platform freezes which creates unreliable charts.

My trades did not trigger anything today. I don't trade Frankfurt open.

I strictly trade first 2-3hrs London, and 2 hrs for US.

Asian good for 5-6pips tp.

I am trying out different setting to filter out the losers which looks promising. Will test it further before releasing it here.

thx dsu....

one thing i have not really played with is the MA filter....from post 1, this is what i make of you settings, is this correct...?

//Bob's H4 240 trend filter. Market above the ma = buy only; below ma = sell only
string mai="--Moving average--";
int MaTF=60;
int MaPeriod=50;//Zero value to disable
int MaShift=1;//The MA Shift input
string mame="Method: 0=sma; 1=ema; 2=smma; 3=lwma";
int MaMethod=0;
string maap="Applied price: 0=Close; 1=Open; 2=High";
string maap1="3=Low; 4=Median; 5=Typical; 6=Weighted";
int MaAppliedPrice=1;

Use 50sma. It might help you filter out the trades. Never trade against a very steep 50sma.

thx dsu,

you have EMA on post one....thats ok if you now using SMA, just might want to edit post 1...

"I do use additional filter MA set at 50 EMA on 1H to limit the trades (sometimes better not having it)."

Hi

The EA has stopped working today because it hit the target profit Yesterday.
It should be reset by today as more than 24H have passed the open and the close of Yesterday's trades.

Any hint !
