can you please make a mute for alerts to file. even with alerts off and in Empty4 alerts off & silenced, it is bleeping

I can tell you an amazing way to trade HGI :smile:

Use correlation. Open EURUSD, EURJPY and USDJPY (same timeframe of course) and entry on EURUSD when you get a second signal on EURJPY/USDJPY at the same bar.

For example: EURUSD, big green arrow and EURJPY big green arrow -> Enter on EURUSD
EURUSD, big green arrow and USDJPY, big red arrow -> Enter on EURUSD

When you try it out you will realize that sometimes the signal on EURJPY/USDJPY is one bar later then on EURUSD (or the other way around), but when you only take Big Arrow signals you can still enter the trade.
Ah and don't mix it up when you get a signal on USDJPY, it has to be a signal in the other direction

EDIT: Oh the HGI Matrix can do that am I right? :roll:

One idea, it would be nice to have a bool like AlertOnlyHurst so that the Alerts are congruent with the Hurst settings.

no - not another request ;)

But this version 26 is another universe than the picture in post #1.
Not knowing, if it's possible to change something instead of adding in posts,
it would be great for any newcomer to get a pic of the recent version in post #1.

I now added to code for drunka's request and updated post 1 with Josch's suggestion.

The AlertOnlyHurst parameter, when set to true, ensures that you will only get Alerts if the signal or wave that was just changed, agrees also with the Hurst condition.

To summarize the Alerts system:

1. HGIMatrix refreshes all its signals and waves every minute. It 'remembers' the old signal or wave from a minute ago, and compares the new signal/wave with the old one. If there is a difference, an Alert could be sent.

2. There are three parameters to specify where Alerts should be sent to:
  • AlertsOn: if true Alerts will be popped-up on the screen with the Empty4 Alert-function
  • NotificationsOn: if true Alerts will be sent to your mobile device, provided you have configured this in Empty4 under the Options-menu and Notifications-tab
  • AlertsToFile: if true Alerts will be appended to a file in the \MQL4\Files area. The file name will be like: <indicatorname>.txt, where <indicatorname> represents the name of the HGIMatrix indicator file.
You can have all of these parameters true, so that you will get Pop-Up alerts, Notifications on your Phone and Alerts in the file. Or you can have all of these parameter false and you won't get any Alerts.

3. There are 5 parameters to specify what type of Alert and on what timeframe you want to receive.
  • AlertOnTrendChange: a comma-separated list of timeframes, to indicate for which timeframe you want to receive a TREND (big arrow) change alert.
  • AlertOnRangeChange: a comma-separated list of timeframes, to indicate for which timeframe you want to receive a RANGE (small arrow) change alert.
  • AlertOnRadChange: a comma-separated list of timeframes, to indicate for which timeframe you want to receive a RAD (small arrow pointing diagonally up or down) change alert.
  • AlertOnRangeWaveChange: a comma-separated list of timeframes, to indicate for which timeframe you want to receive an alert when a RANGE WAVE (Golden Rod wave) appears.
  • AlertOnTrendWaveChange: a comma-separated list of timeframes, to indicate for which timeframe you want to receive an alert when a TREND WAVE (Dodger Blue wave) appears.
4. And now, there is also a AlertOnlyHurst parameter. The Hurst-condition is only 'calculated' if ShowHurst is true. Otherwise, HGIMatrix wouldn't have a clue, whether a signal direction agrees with Hurst or not. If you'd set ShowHurst = false, the AlertOnlyHurst parameter is ignored (ie. you would still get Alerts, even if for a given signal and timeframe, the Hurst condition does not agree). If you have ShowHurst = true and AlertOnlyHurst = true you will only get changes to signals/waves if the new value of the signal/wave agrees with Hurst.

Thanks Rene for this fantastic tool...and also for the grizzled veterans that have added their considerable experience

The development of this indie has and continues to move at such neck-breaking speed that I'm constantly left behind. I've read the thread many times but I feel there's critical basic info that I first need to find and grasp--some basic bedrock stuff before I can try to understand all the various components and their uses with this fantastic indicator.

Is it possible for a PDF Manual (like Bob did with HGI) that gives a basic idea of how to use this matrix. 1st prize would be if someone experienced (like AL) could give a basic idea of how to interpret signals and may be show some trade examples. I know this is asking for a lot but I think I speak for a lot of the less-experienced traders that would love to get to grips with this Matrix in 2015.

I know I have to do my own learning and I'm doing that 24/7 but I want to be sure I'm getting the basics right. Maybe this could be a different thread or even a HGIMatrix thread for "dummies" would also help.

I truly appreciate all that you have done....As I move into 2015 for the first time I feel that trading consistency is just around the corner with this Indie and your Matrix. We are standing of the shoulders of giants--with practice and guidance we can really start to avoid the train smashes and trade more prudently.

I have added an HGIMatrix User Guide to Post 1. The guide does not explain how to trade the HGI-signals. This is done in the HGI-thread by Bob.
