I am sad to Laugh, but I have been there all to many times on the wrong side of a trade with no plan to exit. Sometime we just have to learn the hard way. I am thankful for the stop in 10.4 and knowing that it will not kill my account.

To help you understand the fundamentals of what I have been talking about this article will explain what the plans are and why these moves should be long term. I quote part of the article below but if you want to read the whole thing here is the link. It is a monthly plan to do this over the next months/years?

http://forexblog.oanda.com/20130404/boj ... en-impact/

New Bank of Japan (BoJ) Governor Haruhiko Kuroda held nothing back, much to the global currency market’s surprise, by kicking off his inaugural two-year term with an aggressive new easing program designed to combat more than 15 years of deflation in the world’s third-largest economy.

The key measures of the BoJ’s “Quantitative and Qualitative Monetary Easing” program include a doubling of bond purchases to 7-trillion yen (US$75b) a month and an expansion of purchases of other assets, including exchange traded funds and real-estate investment trusts. The central bank will end up buying more that +70% of newly issued debt – thereby removing a lot of supply from the market.

The pledge of aggressive buying has caused Japanese Government Bonds (JGB) to rally violently and flatten their yield curve. Surprisingly, the BoJ will buy JGBs up to a maturity of 40 years. The market had only been expecting the central bank to extend out to either the five- or 10-year bucket. Yields on 10-year JGBs have since hit a new record low of +0.425%. Low Japanese yields should push domestic investment funds to seek better returns farther afield with U.S. Treasuries the most likely destination.

Ingot54 wrote:I was casting around to see what the rest of the currency pairs are doing, and remembered Bob saying he doesn't trade CHF pairs because of SNB intervention policy. Strongly agree with this. And a heads-up on what is going on there:

The bellwether pair that triggers anxiety in the SNB is the EURCHF.

Last week the EURCHF touched its 240ma line, then on Tuesday it dropped through. It had closed above its 240 every day since November 30th 2012, and now that bull run is officially done.

The point of this post is that price on EURCHF is now only 155 pips above the SNB's line-in-the-sand intervention trigger. Be aware that intervention will affect all CHF pairs to some degree.

It could well be that the SNB will act to defend the franc before their stated 1.2000 level, to prevent the market getting too cheeky again. The ADR is around 33 pips currently, but on 14th January the range was 153 pips. That day the ADR meant NOTHING.

There are better/safer trades around at present, rather than playing with the traders in hell's kitchen (unless you can stand the heat) ;)
EURCHF reaching 1.20 is exciting. A huge spike up is coming, but nothing else. In half an hour retail traders understand it is useless to go against a government. Anyway, it is a beautiful show of strength for lovers of defensive lines. So many orders getting activated at once, intending to discourage the invaders... :o Good bringing this here, let´s avoid CHF crosses next days.

Bad luck I was in near the top as usual :(. Got to hang on and wait for it to go back up now. Hopefully that will happen during the London session.

I intend to be patient but I will be aggressive as well on certain currencies... Now that we know the JPY gameplan for the next few years I will look for opportunities...

Example below is GBP/JPY shows long-term bullish potential...I don't know if it will super high like the last cycle but I am on that ride if it does...

Today EUR is setup on 10.4 like EUR/USD and EUR/NZD as sells.... EUR/NZD also has CSS showing NZD as the strongest currency and EUR as the weakest. Plus 240ma's or the above pivot line are close by to keep S/L low...

EURNZD example:

Todays outlook on GBP/JPY for me is where do I open new positions without incurring larger floating draw-downs then normal... Well I will look at the 10.4 pivots but they can be out of wack from yesterdays rise so I will throw a fib retracement and look at the ADR as well...

First area I noticed is 23.6 fib is on top of the WR2 area as well as the daily ADR at 146.0-20 area... These three measurements tell me there is a probability of PA bouncing from there...

Next level will be 145...WR1 is there as well as the round number of 145. Cable seems to like round numbers so probability of a bounce is higher here. That feature applies to the 146 rounded number as well :)

Third and I believe strongest level will be the WP level and it is the 61.8 fib point AT 143.0 -30 AREA... Those are two very strong levels that PA has a very high probability of bouncing off in a trend scenario. Here is where I would place the majority of my orders if price came down to this level... :)

Here is part of the article that tells me a poor report could be our chance for a good pullback to pile on more positions for another good rise after the market shock dies down:
The market is now worried that tomorrow’s nonfarm payroll report release will come in much weaker than expected (+200K) following the disappointing ADP National Employment Report and today’s weekly jobless claims release. A poor U.S. jobs report will certainly knock the BoJ dollar-yen fueled rally violently and quickly.
If this happens then I would wait for price action to stabilize but I will be putting JPY shorts at better levels next week... :)

given the amount of people going long JPY pairs now.
i am more cautious on hitting with size long now.
all the excitement furore and chest pounding and adrenaline.

i am long but like a reallly fractional standpoint.(and from good levels that's well in profit at this moment)
my take on NFP is a spike down to wash longs and then that's where i'll look to enter based on what pivots we have.

i could be wrong.

but if its so obvious to everyone. it makes me have healthy caution.

if everyone's whoophollering. it makes me have healthy caution.

heck i may just skip NFP if im not able to discern what's going on.

and my favourite indicator the DO on GMT+0 has set a bar for the price to reach. giving a bearish bias to the start of this day.
but we know today doesn't start until NFP time.
