Haha, yea. The numbers refer to time periods. 0 = current I haven't been using them though because I have to manually set every chart to show on foreground. And whenever I want to change something the ribbons jump back on top. I was spending too much time just fixing charts |

The setting is called "LEVEL UP" This is a very unique indicator. DO NOT USE TIME FRAMES. WE DO NOT USE THIS INDICATOR AS A MTF Indicator. This is not used as a multi-time period indicator. The math will be all wrong. This indicator does the unique number 9 math that makes the ribbons work. Time Frame should always be set to zero .... 0 Padnoter read my mind and programmed this indicator to do the unique number 9 math. It is done by the Level Up setting. This is a unique setting and that is why I called it Level Up and Padnoter called it Level Up. So here is a picture. Below is a Template with all indicators to do all the ribbons on all the time periods. Just start from the largest and delete what you do not want starting with the indicator set at Level Up 5 and work down. If you Delete the level up 5 indicator than you now have 6 indicators starting with 4. If you Delete 5 and 4 than you have just 5 indicators starting with Level UP 3 . { 3, 2 ,1 ,0, -1} So subtract level up 5 4 3 2 and this is what you would end up with. Just Three indicators. Now on the Level Up 1 Level up 0 Level up -1 So on the 5 minute time period with just level up settings of 1,0 and -1 you would have a 1 minute shadow ribbon, a Five minute ribbon and and 15 minute ribbon. On the 15 minute it automatically becomes a 5 minute shadow and a 15 minute primary ribbon and a 30 minute larger ribbon. You go up a time period and now you have a 15 minute shadow and a 30 minute primary and a 60 minute larger ribbon. I hope you sort of get the idea now. Normally you are using 7 indicators... level up setting of 5 4 3 2 1 0 -1 Seven indicators. If you want just the first 4 time periods you use 4 indicators. Than you have 3 2 1 -1 -1 will always be the shadow ribbon. Indicators are Always applied from larger to smaller so the smaller fast ribbons do not get covered up. So the fastest shadow ribbon never gets covered and neither does the primary seeing that the shadow is clear and often the next two higher up will be clear of being covered up in a trend. This only applies to time periods 5m - 1 month The one minute is using the old indicator in the base setup below. It only has 4 ribbons. I would leave it alone. I guess I did not put this in the manual. I will have to add it. Edit ... To make this more clear. Each ribbon requires its own indicator. So to do Three would require 3 indicators. ONE indicator can only do one ribbon. Cheers, Doug |

I made a small mistake on the last template in post 1 of this thread. Please make sure your first ribbon indicator is set to a (Level Up setting) of 5 and not -5 on the template for Gann_10.7_HGI_2015 bundle. You will not as a habit see this ribbon much so this small error you may have not noticed. However to see the ribbon it should be set to 5. My mistake. I will fix it on an update I am working on in the next week or so. Cheers, Doug |

Thanks Doug. I still can't solve the fact that the ribbons keep jumping onto the foreground. Even when I switch time periods on the same chart |

I am not sure what you mean by ribbons jumping to the foreground. Do you mean they are covering up candles or something. Maybe post a chart and I can figure it out. Cheers, Doug |

Your problem is a setting in Empty4 not the ribbons. There is a setting under chart properties. For regular candles. Right click chart ... Choose Properties. Choose common You will see settings. Check the box " Chart on Foreground" If using Heiken Ashi candles apply them last on the chart after all the other indicators. Same with HGI. Just basics. Cheers, Doug |

I've done that, but whenever I change anything with my template or even change time periods it reverts back to being unchecked. It's really weird.. |

Sorry, my only thought would be to try re-installing Empty4. Unless you are applying a template with charts on foreground unchecked. In that case make sure you have charts in foreground checked when you save the template. Changing time periods should not change chart properties. You might want to try a demo from a different broker and see if you have the same problem. Maybe a different Empty4 setup will help you find out what is up with this strange behavior. Cheers, Doug |

Looking at a pure Gann 10.7 setup. No HGI this time but a base setup for all time periods 1 minute to the Daily. This is EURUSD looking back at NFP on Friday. I hacked the Volume tick indicator to give a clear view of Seller and Buyer Volume. Yes it does reflect candle movement accurately for those who do not take tick volume seriously. You will see a pick up of seller volume over buyer volume in a downtrend. It works nicely to compare to the volume signature in the better volume indicator. Heiken Ashi candles deal with noise nicely without the loss of price action reflected in the candle patterns. The Fabulous 10.7 stochastic indicator is even more powerful when Pips400's Dl-Hurst MACD is superimposed under the indicator. Price moves not in a straight line but in waves and this indicator does a nice job of clarifying the price wave action reflected in the movements that are sometimes exaggerated in a stochastic indicator. This may be the best combination of two indicators I have ever seen. I am still testing it but it looks to be a keeper in the setup. A traditional MACD can fool you by resetting back towards the zero line but the Hurst MACD reflects wave action more realistically and seems to be able to give you a sense of market momentum that you can not get from a stochastic indicator. Yet the stochastic is the most powerful and simple entry signal that most novices can understand. However a stochastic can be in an overbought and oversold state for some time and price can still move upwards or downwards many pips. The Hurst MACD can help with understanding price extension and exhaustion. A stochastic is not capable of reflecting price extension once it is topped or bottomed out. I am not particularly interested in targets as much as the feel the indicator gives for trading intraday. I will probably add Hurst targets to the higher time frames Hurst most accurately models. Price finds support at the Four Hour Ribbon. Some who trade intraday may get a better feel for trading higher time periods with Gann 10.7. This is a look at the 4 hour on the same pair. I am still working on this setup. Cheers, Doug |
