I wonder, how close have I came to being banned in the past Steve, could've scratched your itch :smile: ? :lol: Anyway, discipline is not a strong suite for many these days...and by that I mean this person took the title of the indicator to mean that they would not have to do any work, just plop it on the screen and there you go instant 2-minute trillionaire, she had probably already started spending her profits. I have come to the conclusion that trading is not just about the signals, but a myriad of other things too, in order to be successful. This is what the noobs are not willing to learn. Took me far to long to learn that, anyway.

I'm a very long time lurker who is greatly appreciative of all the time and work that Steve, Bob, Tomele, Paul and countless others have put into sharing their knowledge and wisdom. As someone with a demanding full-time job, the amazing tools created here allow me to indulge my trading itch without losing my shirt...yet! :-)

So at great risk of being banned I'm going to ask a stupid question (stupid because I do know Steve's views on backtesting)!

Do the yearly HGI updates involve any level of testing (back or forward) of parameters and tweaking of same?

The reason I ask this is that I have noticed my own trading performance with HGI slowly deteriorating - not loss making but less profitable, less big winners - over the last year / year and a half, without noticeably changing anything else in my trading approach.

I suspect, without having the time or skills to properly analyse, that with more and more use of robots and AI tools that characteristics of the markets have fundamentally changed. I am also aware that those using autotrading robots regularly consider their parameters expired and backtest and retrain new parameters.
