I realized this is still not quite what we need. The latest version of the indi only allows the use of each of Empty4's TFs once. I need to be able to specify which TF to use (or use again) on each of the 7 TF settings areas.

The reason: I am trying to test the original strategy of using 4h, 8h, and 1d (24h) timeframes. Which means I have to synthesize the 8 hour by using the 4h TF a second time and using different MA periods.

(I believe using the 4h to synth the 8h when all the slow/fast periods should be equal to 10/30 = 4h with ma slow/fast of 20/60 -- Is that correct? I think it should be close anyway. For a 12h I think it is 30/120?)

I have been reading for days about MQL but I just can't quite follow all the array logic yet... :?

I understand the POINT of what is being done most of the time but not exactly HOW yet for me to change it myself.

Is it a big deal to update the indi again? If you don't have time, I will press on with my studies with a view to "get there". (I will continue with my MQL learning in any case, of course.)

Would now be a good time to include the AllAverages/swiss army stuff? (This is a bonus -- not required at this time.)

I have been excited as heck to get my hands on the codersguru stuff! I THINK I am making progress! :ugeek:

Try this one. You now specify the period (in minutes) as the first entry in the settings.

WOW! You ARE quick! What do you do in your other life? :):)

Sorry if I am slow but did you notice if my assumption on synth-ing the 8h was correct?

And, since now adjusting to TFs in minutes, do I need to adjust any other Fast/slow periods? Or is that just a convenient way to specify? [EDIT] I just saw found the answers to this paragraph in lesson 15 of coderguru's stuff! -- You can just use the minutes straight up in the iMA(x, int TIMEFRAME,) parameter. Cool!

Yep, PERIOD_D1 is actually a constant equal to 1440.

I don't think simple multiplication of the settings works with an EMA since the number of points will be off and the more recent points count more. You may get sufficiently close results, however.
