I assume you use the MPTM right? I'm going to download it now and see if I can wrap my head around it so I can set it up to manage my trades automatically.

No I don't use mptm, I adjust my trades manually.
Mptm cannot manage the trades exactly as I do, although I have been thinking about setting it up to set the break even +5, but it can't jump the way I want it too.

I'm reading the manual for the MPTM and you're right it can't manage it like you do... Well, maybe I will try to get an email alert system running so I get an e-mail and move the SL using my work pc, and maybe in the future I look into using a smart phone with a mobile Empty4 so I can move the SL manually while on the move.

EDIT: you people probably have experience with smartphones and can help me with this: does a smartphone rings when you receive an e-mail? :? Can't find the answer on the net...

I have an iPhone & you can go into settings and change it to give an alert when an email comes in.

I will look at the entry stop if we don't go up 100 pips. If there is some sort of point to set at or just let it go until the arrow change. I think it is fare to say that lot size has to be adjusted for the large pip movements both up and down.

I have to start learning how to program... I was thinking an EA for trade management made just for this strategy shouldn´t be to hard to program if you know what your doing, has the trade management is not to complicated (maybe just yet...)

I was thinking:
Constants:
Entry Price - Buy or Sell price

Logic:
When trade +100 pips profit, Set SL to +/- (depending on buy or sell) to BE + 5 (+ spread if needed)
When trade +150 pips profit, Set SL to +/- (depending on buy or sell) to BE + 50 (+ spread if needed)
When trade +200 pips profit, Set SL to +/- (depending on buy or sell) to BE + 100 (+ spread if needed)
...etc until we have
When trade +1500 pips profit, Set SL to +/- (depending on buy or sell) to BE + 1450 (+ spread if needed)


It would be a crude but effective way to have the trade managment fully automated.

And if we added some variables, we could make it "setup-able", for example, we could call the initial +100 pips that triggers the BE the "variable BE trigger", so that we could setup the intial BE trigger, and then we could have another variable called "variable trail level 1" that would be, in this case +50, and we would have for each trailling level this:

Trail level 1 trigger = "variable BE trigger" + "variable trail level 1"
Trail level 2 trigger = "variable BE trigger" + "variable trail level 1" X 2
Trail level 3 trigger = "variable BE trigger" + "variable trail level 1" X 3
etc...


I would have to know how MQL really works to properly explain myself, has I have no ideia how it really works at the moment... It would have to be able to distinguish if the entry is a sell or a buy... Man, I really have to get into this stuff..

I've been reading through and still very impressed with the results given the simplicity and lack of discretion applied. However I would be uncomfortable with the degree of move back into negative territory such as the AUDUSD has currently.
Like you intcust that was my very first question, where do we kill the trade if it doesn't get to BE and before waiting for a weekly trend change?!

This NZDJPY entry you've taken this morning Shelley also intrigues me. Yes we still have the green arrow but the 8 is actually above the 3SMA on the weekly. I would have thought you would wait for it to actually cross back up on the weekly chart?
Also interesting is the daily candle on one of my demo platforms closed lower than open but the Global Prime platform is just a fraction higher forming a bull pin. I think these factors would make me wait and see, and that's where I start applying discretion which can be beneficial but can also be detrimental?!!

No problem, I'm actually very interested in this strategy because I work shifts and a long time frame strategy is ideal at the time with my life situation being the way it is right now.

Well I just entered 25 trades... lol

If this was a live account I would be looking for the start of the next weekly bar to start, but has this is a demo no problem there.

Regarding the SL's, my next step is using MPTM for the BE, and then I will use e-mail alert to a e-mail account synchronized with my tablet for the trailing stops. It will probably be a PITA to set up all those alerts, but until I find out to code that thing up there (and I don't even know if I will be able to do it) it will have to be so.

I've got 2 study cases I have questions about if you can look at them:

Case 1 - Weekly trend is up. The "freshly" closed bar has full MTF indi compliance and it's close is above the 3 MA, but I am not sure if I should wait for another D1 candle close because it appears on that on the candle that just closed that the 3 MA was still below the 8 MA. What do you think about this? I don't know if that in case price comes down sufficiently we would see that the 3 MA line never went above the 8 MA... or maybe I'm just overthinking it...

Case 2 - Look at the top left quadrant of the chart, the bar close indi says the bar will close in MINUS 32 minutes... lol any one has any idea of what's happening here? Maybe the silver market is closed or something?
