I've been a lurker on this site as I don't have much to contribute but lots to learn. I know it's late Bob, but I've learnt loads from you; not just about trading but about being patient and generally a nice bloke! You have changed my life for sure, you wonderful human being. Bob, I do not regularly contribute to these forums. I have been a trader for several years. My old method of trading was based on compounding gains using short movements in the markets (traditional scalping). I was successful, but the time and stress involved were overwhelming at times. Truth be told I started reading your threads because of the title "Holy Grail Indicator." I had seen so many indicators come and go claiming to be the "Holy Grail." I guess I expected a good laugh. I was pleasantly surprised by the concepts you taught, concepts that changed my life as a trader. Don't get me wrong. The HGI is a work of art, but the concepts you taught made the difference to me. In particular: 1. Trading with the assistance of the CSS indicator. By focusing on the strongest/weakest pairs I spent my time focusing on the pairs likely to make big moves. I got caught up in chop a lot less and made a lot more per trade. 2. Compounding my positions. Entering with multiple small positions in the direction of the trend allowed me to keep risk very small while realizing the potential for huge returns. I do not use your exact method of compounding at the 20 pip lines, but I do try to compound my position every 4 hour candle. 3. Trading the 4 hour timeframe. This was the biggest salvation for me. I was not glued to my monitor for hours at a time. I could check my trade station once ever 4 hours and make the necessary adjustments (move stops, compound positions, etc.). I have accepted your invitation to donate some of my profits to charity, but my evolutionary journey as a trader would not be complete without writing you this note of thanks. Thank you, Bob. Bob, This is my first post ever on Steve's site. I have been trading FOREX for about six years (if you can call it that). I have won and LOST much and have never been able to achieve a strategy that I thought makes sense (TP, SL Entry, Exit and overall strategy). I spent the last four months taking a step back to read, read and read more here, starting at 10x through the HGI system. After all this reading and a DEMO account to study, I have found YOU have created in a system (and better yet an overall trade philosophy) what I new somehow makes sense in a system. I cant believe after all the money I have spent on indicators, EAs and LOTS of $$ on education you give it all FREE subtract a little time reading and studying, which is nothing compared to prior junk. I have to thank you so much for all of this as I finally have a system down that works. Your a saint!!! and I just cant thank you enough. I would be absurd to not donate. The only regret is that I did not find this six years ago... I have one question? Now that you have created the HGI, I have noticed that there are several variances of the system and I was just wondering which one you have in your trading routine? Is it the base HGI or a combination of or variance of HGI and others? Just curious... Thanks much Tony |
