As you mentioned above, HGBnG Trades with .02 lots serve as a hedge to RnR drawdown. What happened in my demo HGBnG trades were generated first even before RnR /imbalance trades were triggered. There must be a means where HGBnG will be introduced when RnR is in DD. Seventy percent of my $10,000 demo went on DD within 3 days.

Good to read the ideas people are posting. Do try anything practical on demo next week and share the results. I have a simple solution to address the problem Identified above.

We need to change OnlyCloseProfitablePositions to false for CloseOnOpposite. We still keep this true for CloseOnYellowRangeWavy

This stops a loosing grid from HGBnG growing out of control and makes no difference to winning grids which already CloseOnOpposite

With this change I suggest increasing HGBnG Lot Size to 0.05 while keeping RnR at 0.01

Also increase from 5000 to 15000 as a demo account size until we can see the drawdown from any further big moves and no doubt they will come.

Here are my results with combination of HGBnG Long+Short and RnR Exp.
Tested on 4 pairs , still tweaking settings so let's see what will next week bring.
GJ,GC,NJ,EU were pairs and DD was never greater then 5% on 10K account.

Now testing with 0.01 lot on RnR and 0.05 HGBnG. Also changed as TJF suggested to close all HGBnG trades on yellow wavy (positive + negative).
Looking to implement also Nanningbob's CSS for picking pairs on D1 that should be ranging that day so will see.

Really pleased to see these positive results.

Just to clarify I am only suggesting to close all on OPPOSITE signal. Yellow wavy should only close winners as per the set files I posted otherwise I have found you will get a lot of losers but feel free to test obviously.

I think it is a good idea to close all on yellow wavy and not just winners since I am on M15 tf instead of M5 and they do not come that often as on M5.
And if trend continues we can send another grid after trend arrow appear.
Let's do a test ;)

here is my final result for this week.

The combo recovered nicely and managed to finish the week nearly at breakeven. We are on a good way.

Hey.. thanks for posting.

I had 11 long trades in total but it didn't make that much difference to the result as they were all cut short with close on opposite.

Overall it was a breakeven week on equity for me. HGBnG short trades had a bad run early on and RnR then recouped the loss over the course of the week.

I have been testing many things last week and I have an addition to make which hopefully will be the missing link to make this combination worthwhile.

I started this journey out with the idea of collectively offsetting using Rene's GridMaster. This didn't work at the time using the same lot sizes for RnR and HGBnG but I continued my testing with different profit settings on HGBnG. I have also realized since that perhaps the individual offsetting can still be ON with GridMaster essentially working a level higher.

The bottom screenshot below is TrendRangeCombo as posted at the start of this week and above it are the results for HGBnG LONG and SHORT with GridMaster. Even though it was a difficult week for HGBnG with price in a tight range this setup came through well.

So I am adding GridMaster to this setup for two tests:

1: RnR offsetting on it's own, HGBnG additional offsetting with GridMaster
2: RnR and HGBnG both additional offsetting with GridMaster.

The idea is that GridMaster offsets at a higher level than the built in offsetting with RnR and HGBnG looking at RnR and/or the Long and Short HGBnG trades together whenever there is a minimum profit of 5 available to offset. This should ensure that we don't get caught with big loses when HGBnG gets a false trend signal.

I have now rewritten post 1 with the set files to enable this.
