I forgot to add that I have intervened manually several times, closing the entire position when it had accrued good profit and, for example, New York was about to open. Bob has taught us that the markets often reverse then. No idea whether leaving the trades open would have been more profitable.

I closed a position on Thursday afternoon, I think it was, after what I assume was a news spike turned a position that had been going nowhere all day into profit. A number of pairs had spiked and the spike was going to reverse, so I bagsied the profits.

I closed down a couple of hours before the markets closed on Friday night. There was $109 on the table so grabbed them and shut down.

I have not allowed the bot to show its full potential with all this interference. It could be that it would have been a lot more profitable had I just let it run. What I do know with regard to both HGI and SS is this: if you wait for them to generate an opposite direction signal before closing trades, then a lot of the profit disappears and a position that was magnificently profitable can turn into a loss. The market has to move a long way before these two indi's generate a signal.

It is possible to disable this EA in the lead up to a news release - this applies to all of the Dotty family and pretty much everything I have coded for about 3 years. Go to Rene's http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =97&t=5039 and download the EA. It goes on a single chart on your Empty4 platform and set up the inputs to do whatever it is you want it to do. Rene's EA will talk to all of mine and stop them doing anything in the run up to a news release.

Here are two more sets I am trying...

The SHF test set has a grid to scale in and 200pip TP for each position rather than a basket close and 500pip emergency SL and does not invoke Buy Low Sell High so just FB and D1 SS to bring more opportunities. I will make decisions to hold or close these grids before the end of each week.

The SHF test no grid has the same settings plus Buy Low Sell High activated on the current chart. It also just takes the first FB in direction of D1 SS each day and I am going to use this as a helper for manual trading a small live account. It theory it means I won't miss opportunities that start in the Asian session when I am sleeping or during the day if I am away from charts. I will make decisions to hold or close these trades before the end of each trading day.

Hi Guys

Firstly,, A huge thanks for the groundbreaking work that TraderJoe is doing and importantly for Steve in supporting TJF's work :good:

A few weeks ago TraderJoe mentioned the possibility of including Hgi in the mix....Well I've had my thinking caps on since then and have worked on a combination. It is by no means something that is refined and still in raw stages.

However I do not doubt the power of Hgi and if superslope is thrown in the mix let alone Flying Buddha we have a strong combination.

Losses will be taken and the Ea will handle it for you. I do not have a grid or hedge strat with this.

Trades are taken If I get a a blue wavy or trend signal on the 1hr timeframe. For this I use the 1 Hr Hgi Matrix to quickly open the relevant chart and I load HolygrailBob 'n Dotty 'n Superslope 'n Flying Buddha template with the relevant set file below. A quick and structured method without thinking when the signal is given.This set is tweaked to get the most of out of each trade and I do not particularly look at a basket exit strategy.

I was not sure if I should post it here as TraderJoe is on a roll and I don't want to hog his thinking process so please feel free to tell me to open another thread that incorporates Hgi.

Anyway here goes with today's results 384 pips.

I already have tests underway with 50 pips and 100 pips. It does not include a basket exit but individual trade exits. The wonderful thing with these settings is that I can use jumpstops within the Ea. Still testing this.

Here is the set to be placed on the latest Ea as posted by Steve.
