Just made an IDE for MQL4

regarding to the 2nd issue it's probably due to the different user experience. currently if you select the first line and place cursor to the 2nd line, the whole block will get selected. could you please try this and see if it works:
1. place the cursor the the beginning of the 1st line (first column of the line)
2. then press CTRL+Down (the down arrow key, not page down)
the whole block should be highlighted.

another way is to do a left click on the line number of the first line, it should also select the whole block. how do you usually do to select whole line?

Nothing I can do makes this work. Don't worry about it. It is something I would like, but I have done 6 years without it and can continue to do without it.

It will be really good if you can make the updating thingy work. If you cannot, you cannot. The other stunning features in your ide make it a clear winner still. Just so you know why I want this, bear in mind where I am as a coder.

I am not a pro coder. I type a line of code, then do a recompile to make sure the line of code I have just typed does not cause chaos. This takes time. If Ihave to then reload the EA onto the chart to ensure that what I have just typed is reflected accurately by the chart feedback, this takes a lot more time.

So, I am asking you to code stuff that helps me make up for my own inadequacies. Don't kill yourself on my behalf.

Just found out I made a mistake in my last post, it should be "SHIFT+Down" instead of CTRL. Also, Steve I notice you are probably using Cowboy IBFX, currently the utility to send message to Empty4 search for Empty4 instances by window title, if the title contains "Empty4" or "Empty4" it'll send a refresh message to it. What does the title of Cowboy IBFX Empty4 look like? In the mean time I will see if there's a better way to identify Empty4 instances..

Don't worry about it Steve, I already gained a lot from the community, and the more we improve the IDE the better it will serve the community and even myself.

did a little hack to hopefully make it work for now, please unzip the attachment and replace the file under folder "/other" with this version. see if it works for you.

anybody willing to try please also help and see if this patch works. if it works i am gonna make it into the new release

your IDE is the best thing since sliced bread .
( as long as version 1.3.1 does not compile, I´ll use the 1.2.1 version because it compiles ok.

I'd like to add my thanks for your effort on this. Unfortunately, I think this might be a bug reading a path...Seen when trying to compile.

looks like I forgot to enclose the batch file with a quote. you can either re-download 1.3.1 or just replace the attached "mql.properties" with the one in /langs/mql.properties

Maybe it's another user experience issue.
For those who can't compile, would you mind try the "Go"(F5) instead of "Compile"(CTRL+F7) or "Build"(F7) and see if it works?
Before 1.3.1 all these 3 perform the same action, however in 1.3.1 I only adjusted "Go" because this is what I use and we use the same shortcut key to compile as in metaeditor.
I'll make "Compile" and "Build" to only do compiling but not notifying Empty4 on next release, as soon as I get some feedback on the notifier program.
Therefore, in future "Go" will be the best compiling option feature wise.

I have 2 different experiences with F5 .

a) program folder for IDE installed on drive D (not drive C where programs are installed)
----> error. does not compile because the path is wrong

b) program folder for IDE installed in Programs folder on drive C
-----> no error, compiles perfectly.

Now I have to change the settings for the fonts in this new installation on the C drive to get
bigger font.
