Well at the time the SDC would have been in a down trend and the MA cross not yet apparent but slope has already started to move up and we have a nice hammer at the bottom. Price would have been probably sitting on the lower 1.62 of a down trending SDC. This is not easy but the Day and Four hour slope lines offer an extra amount of encouragement already rising before the hammer. Candle formations can be a great help in finding the bottom.

The Day period SMI is going to be the choice indicator to get confirmation of entry with a position trade I would think. Looking at two periods like this will be necessary. It seems simple in hind sight but at the time it would have been hard to reverse your perspective to a long position but there may be enough information to do that here with a look at both charts.

Post subject:  MAJOR UPDATE IN THE TEMPLATE

A statement by one of the participates in my intraday thread got me thinking about the deviation channels.

Version 4 of the Combined Template. Huge improvement to the Four Hour SDC and the Daily SDC. Now you will find trading off of those two time periods very much like trading the hourly. I realized that the SDC deviation channel were really not calibrated to the time period. I shortened them up to a 140 period look back on the Daily and a 28 day look back on the Four Hour. The difference is remarkable and now the time periods of 1 hour, four hour and Daily are in sync. It will be a lot easier to trade each time period and compare them. Very beneficial to swing trading and position trading. I thank Zah1231 for getting me thinking about the deviation channel look back and his input in the intraday thread.

EURUSD now with the new template. The pair has moved out to the upper 62 deviation and a slight uptrend correction.

I like the new template. Deviations seem right now.

EURUSD

The Daily shows the pair touching the central deviation. Much more useful now.

I think a nicely trending pair like the AUZNZD will be a nice pair to see how the better calibration of the template SDC on all 3 time periods will be represented as AUZNZD turns south again.

Do you have any doubt that we are probably going to see a top. I have just a little. If you scroll back in time you can see where there is a much higher top but I think the Fibonacci channels can still be right on if I am right in thinking how the new calibration on the Day period effects its slope. I am going to watch what happens here as a guide to how to trade nice position trades but I would expect that the Hour chart will change its slope first followed by some change in the four hour. This candle patterns and TMA slope can give us a good clear picture possibly of a top in the pair. To be able to get close to defining tops and bottoms would be a coup but this can be such a mirage in technical analysis. But the significance this can have on Swing and Position trading is easy to get the since of.

I want to draw your attention to the fact that all of my posting will be in the original thread from here on out. I will eventually have a system that is comprehensive for trading any time zone. Once I have formulated a system I may start a new thread based just on that system.
