Only the first attachment is an ea. the others are indys used by the ea. Note carefully that this is very much a work-in-progress and still missing some elements!

Thanks for that, just to let you know the indicators seem to be very resource intensive, will definitely need a few code changes here and there.

hi guys ! Wouldn't it be better to open a NEW thread about the EA development now in the section describing all these EA .... here in this thread it is now a mix of manuell and automatic trading starting ... IMO that's not so good ... ;)

Coolncalm -thanks for posting this - will certainly follow along here - if I can!!

I'm not sure on the pivot order definitions. It's the use of the words "& upward" and "& downward" which particularly confuses me!!

Ranging Market (RM) pivot formations sub-categorised as follows:
• DP<WP & DP<MP but WP>MP: Uptrend Retracement (UT-RR↓/DT↓)*
• DP>WP & DP>MP but WP<MP: Downtrend Retracement (DT-RR↑/UT↑)*
With DP between WP & MP:
- DP<WP & upward but DP>MP & WP>MP: Uptrend Resumption (UT-R) ↑
- DP<WP & downward but DP>MP & WP>MP: Uptrend Retracement (UT-RR) ↓
- DP>WP & upward but DP<MP & WP<MP: Downtrend Retracement (DT-RR) ↑
- DP>WP & downward but DP<MP & WP<MP: Downtrend Resumption (DT-R) ↓
Note:
A UT-RR↓ becomes a DT↓ if WP<MP
A DT-RR↑ becomes a UT↑ if WP>MP
A UT-RR↓ becomes a UT-R↑ if DP turns upward
A DT-RR↑ becomes a DT-R↓ if DP turns downward

You also refer to levels/colours on TMA Slope, but I THINK you're referring to TMA CSS?

Finally [for now at least!], the levels on TMA CSS [-0.55, -0.8, etc etc] disappear whenever you change timeframes or restart your platform. Is there a known cure for this!!??

Cheers,

Rob

RJo wrote:I take that last part back... someone else has made an NRP TMA Slope indi.

A kind soul directed me to Baluda's TMASlopeMTF. Not sure how I missed it. This is the same calculation as all the latest TMA Slope indi's, so I will make it "for EA" and build v1c. Coolncalm prefers the CSSDiff, so v1b will stay up as well.
Actually, I'm fine with any. If Baluda's TMASlopeMTF is more resource efficient than CSSDiff, then I agree we should give it a shot.

Hi Rob,

The bias is the UT or DT in the narration. It is either full-fledged, retracing (-RR) or resuming/continuing (-R). We define the formation in order to clarify what the bias is, then we trade it. By trading in the direction of the bias, the system continues to work well when a full trend starts (it is the sudden start of a trend that makes range trading so risky) and gets you in right at the beginning.

The best way to learn the formations is to identify each one on a chart. Once familiar, you'll identify them within seconds. As a tip, check first where WP is relative to MP - if above, its one of the UT formations; if under, a DT formation.

The last thing to note is that pivots take time to form - literally a day, week, month - so we should be on the look out for signs that a new formation is emerging. Higher TF alerts and understanding how the formations change deals with that well, leaving you with some trading accuracy.

Hope that helps. The colour reversal is explained in the notes (since updated).

Cheers,
CC

Hi AGT,

I was actually trying initially to get the code wizards to help out with an EA or indy mods (e.g. Sema4x) before rolling out the system to a wide audience. Not because it cannot be traded manually right now (I'm trading it), its just that I feel some of the manual steps can be simplified first. Maybe when we've made some decent progress, the thread can be moved... just a thought. Steve can have the final say on that one.

Hi RJo,

Great work. Just a couple of clarifying questions - If MaxPercentageatRisk, RiskRatio and LotMgt are all set to "false" where is the fixed lotsize set? Also, what does ClosePositionsNonTH do?

Also, what do you think of adding a margin of allowance to the primary Fast conditions to better accomodate the varying behavior of different pairs, i.e. something like:

// Check conditions
if ( ( iHigh(Symbol(),0,1) >= (( iCustom(Symbol(),0,"FastTMALine for EA",1,0) + margin*pt) || ( iCustom(Symbol(),0,"FastTMALine for EA",1,0) - margin*pt)) )

Just wondering...

CC

Ahhhh I was struggling with that, but thought that it was the DP movement.

Attached for anyone interested is a visual representation of some rules of CoolCalms very fine system, thanks to all who contribute, and it's great to see Alorente here, he is a very insightful trader
