Is there an easy answer to the other questions?

Must the EA be on and running at the first tick of the new D1 bar or will it trade at any time during the day? (ie does it only trade on the first tick)

At what stage does it move from having a Long or Short setup to triggering and placing the trade?

Buy EURUSD
Buy EURAUD
Sell USDCHF

All trades currently in drawdown

I'm glad you are looking at alternate trade management strategies. I have been reading through the original Gday thread and it always seemed a bit counter-intuitive to me to have a stop loss with a full position and have the really nice winning trades go with a minimal position. I hope you find success going forward with an alternate means.

I'm going to be following the thread with great interest and hope you can come up with something really great. That's all - good luck everyone!

Cheers Doom, I agree....12 months ago when I first started trading this strategy, we were getting longer runs and able to get 200-300 pip profits regularly. These days the profits are smaller due to whipsawing markets, so I think we will need to adapt better to this.

Now we have the EA with lots more user inputs, I can test some more exit strategies.

Why would they differ I wonder?

I'm also not getting any trades. Pats question is relevant--if the EA wasn't on at the first days candle does this mean I must wait until 24h00 tonight before the EA will trade

I've got this set up for USDCAD. Considering whats happening with Ms Sandy--this might be a real winner.
