My Cowboy IBFX demo v 1.07 not doing too well. Basket launched at midday yesterday, OOTB, hands off, MPTM BE25+10 JS10, SL H4 240 LWMA, TP WR1/WS1, opening balance 10k.

fx8000, mine went backwards a bit too over the last 2 days, but is well ahead for the week. Its a H4 strategy, will take time to determine how effective it is.

Andy, I'm not concerned right now about the lack of trades yesterday. After all, 1.07 was doing the same and it had been trading like a champion previously. If they continue not trading next week then maybe there's a problem, will have to wait and see :)

I've also noticed that different trades are launched on different brokers - I have no idea why that is!

I've found a couple of bugs I will iron out over the weekend and all should be ok for the next trading day.

If human intuition was that good, 90% (or whatever the figure is) of traders wouldn't fail. For most people, their intuition leads them to carry loss trades in the hope they'll turn around, while snatching at small profits - or ignoring signs of reversal in hope of a move higher & thus turn a winner into a loser. Most people are afraid to buy into weakness or sell into strength, and instead chase price.

Sure there's plenty of EAs that drain accounts - I don't know about this one as I can't get it to backtest - but human intuition is just as capable of doing the same.

That's why there's such a plethora of trading systems out there. People need rules to follow in order to curb their destructive instincts, and they hope the rules lead to profit rather than loss. If a system's rules do indeed have an edge on the market, and the rules are tightly enough defined, then there's no reason I can see why those rules can't be automated taking human emotion out of the picture altogether.

Having said all that, my trading up to now has been highly discretionary & based on tons of analysis (see my manual systems thread), and as Andy pointed out in the first post of this thread, this EA is not meant to be a set & forget automaton, but needs human intervention and trade management to make it work.

I didn't say that. A robot could be better than a human, just as Big Blue is better at chess than Kasparov - but it depends obviously on how good the robot is and how good the human is. You can't just make a broad generalisation.

This particular robot helps with entries, and after that you need to take over yourself in managing the trade. Its not something you can leave to trade on its own. For people who may be struggling with an entry method, or have learned the rules of a method but can't bring themselves to stick to it, a robot like this is extremely useful.

Robots are very good at doing as they are told 24/7.

I totally agree with you that it takes time for the trades to run its course. Until a trade hit stop loss, if the trend persists, it will eventually become profitable.

I found this in my microlot live account. So far, the negatives trades have all been closed manually at BE. It may well be that if I had left them to run, they would have turned positive. This is what I will find out by leaving the Cowboy IBFX demo to run 24/7 without any intervention.

Another thing is that I like Bob's proven profitable strategy of banking profits two to three hours into each trading session, rinse and repeat. This strategy is particularly suited to those who cannot be in front of the PC all the time.

Also, I would like to thank you for your many contributions in this thread.
