My mother grew up on a farm with out electric until she was in high school during the US depression of the 1930's 1940's and the second World War. There are not many who remember those times but my child hood was filled with the stories of the Great Depression and the Farm she grew up on. This was before TV and they had just Radio and President Roosevelt. She was a national 4H winner and won a scholarship to college. She was a teacher. That is who I remember. She had a love for God and she became a Christian by reading the Bible. This person faded away over the last 5 years. The conversation my sister and I had with her ended long before death took her. We must find a cure for this disease. It is cruel.

I will be back in a few months or at the latest fall to pursue trading again but for now I am reading, decompressing, working to restore my house which is my home place with some interior paint and trying to loose some weight with exercise so I can manage my diabetes better. Best yet I am taking time to listen to some of the great music of the masters. This includes American Jazz as well as classical music and modern masters like Philip Glass. I am also a huge fan of the American TV singing competitions The Voice and American Idol. So I keep busy.

I will be on here reading others threads to see what every one has been up to from time to time. But It is Spring and I need to drink in the sun and the flowers and the birds that my mother so loved.

My heart goes out to you. I lost my mother when I was in middle school. Even after all these years I have many mémoires. Enjoy them.

My mum is now suffering from Parkinson and early stages of Alzheimer, so I know what you went trough. p.s. for your diabetes, walking for an hour a day and a daily dose of one teaspoon of real cinnamon would be very helpful.
