One last item: The $ 25.69 profit in December was trading on only 8 pairs, with no symbol being traded more than twice. This was designed to minimize risk. If the EA continues to perform well in coming months, I will look to increase this. Ideally, I would like to see it running on 12-16 pairs. Happy trading!  |

Hi Cozy, I downloaded and installed the files attachd to your message of 29/12. All went well exept the screen view. For all pairs (8 in total) I notice a rapid and random change of the time frame. The picture for each pair switches between weekly, daily and monthly. The problem must be linked to the setfile FBSS Cozybooks.set. If I apply an older version of the set file (downloaded mid december) the problem disappears. I have tried to find the difference between both versions without succes. Can you be of help to point to the problem parameter? Thanks |

Hi Willem, I think it's probably because I am using an updated version of the core library, which allows you to change the zoom level. You can try changing the zoom level to zero, or try this copy of the core library instead. This is the version I am using (it has to go into the INCLUDE folder in your Empty4 platform, then you must restart your Empty4 platform for it to take effect.) This allows me to set the zoom to 3 (which is what I use as a default on my charts) without having the issue you are describing. I saw this fix to the library in one of the other threads, but I can't remember which one. Happy trading!  P.S. - a slow start to the month so far for me - down about $2.00 for January on limited trades, although I am still running on only 8 pairs. I'm hoping to increase to 12 pairs soon. |

I implemented your suggestion. unfortunately it does not solve the problem. Is there a change in the set file of say mid december and the one you attached to your recent message? |

Set file was definitely changed over time. The only change I have seen have the result you have described was when the zoom was set to something other than zero. I'll take a look over the weekend and see if I see anything. |

Give this set file a try. I have set zoom to zero, and also for non-u.s. traders, I've set trading to both long and short. I tried this on a another Empty4 setup using the version of the core library that is found on the link at the start of this thread and it looks okay, but with markets closed, I'm not sure if that has any bearing on it. I don't remember from when I had this issue originally if you still have to close the Empty4 platform and re-open it before the zoom changes took effect. Hopefully that helps! |

Hi all, A new 4-Hour strategy. Trading in the Middle is still continuing its live test, but I am beginning trading a little bit of a new idea with this EA. I have set this up on a demo with 12 pairs. I will be manually trading this Live on a small Oanda account, initially using a $100 account with $100 lot sizes. U.S. trader, so I will have separate accounts for buy and sell trades, and lot sizes need to be different from each other, so I will be using the Oanda desktop trade manager to enter lot sizes of 100, 101, 102, etc. If you want to be super conservative, you could use even smaller lot sizes on Oanda like 50,51 etc. I have the EA on the demo set to email me notifications when it places trades, so as I receive notifications I'll do my best to enter manual trades as soon as I see the notifications. Basics: Timeframe: 4-Hour Superslope Filter: Weekly 4-50 (just about one month of data) Maximum 5 buy trades and 5 sell trades open at any one time. Trade entry on every Flying Buddha signal No SL TP=150% of Daily ATR(365) No miminum distance in pips between trades. I am not using sixths or trading in the middle or any of the cozybooks closure options on this strategy. Losing trades will only be closed manually using profits from opposite winning trades, so winning buy trades will close losing sell trades, and vice versa. I will use a maximum of 70% of the amount of winning trades to close losing trades. As old losers are closed with profits, it will allow new trades to be entered that actually have a chance of closing with their TP as price eventually changes direction. I have been trading this same idea with HGI signals since mid December with the live baby accounts on Oanda, and it is going very well, so I am basically doing the exact same thing but using Flying Buddha signals with superslope as a filter for trade entry. In the short term, unless I am lucky the accounts will run a small deficit. As price moves up and down over time, I expect the profits to keep pouring in. If I trade conservatively, I'm content to wait for hedge trades to develop naturally, by superslope changing color and then the corresponding FB signals to enter trades. Sometimes this can be several hundred pips away or more on an H4 timeframe. If the demo and baby live account do well, I'll expand to more pairs over time and possibly look at putting it onto a regular Empty4 platform live if I can live with the problems it creates for u.s. accounts. Hi Cozy, I placed the latetst HGBnD core library.mqh and the set file FBSS long and short zoom zero. It did the trick and thre screens are "calm" again. Thank you very much for sorting out the problem. Now the serious bit starts testing the EA. This morning I started with a small gain but it is early in the week!! Many thanks!!! |

Hi Willem, Best of luck with your testing! I still believe in this strategy with this EA. But it definitely requires patience. You will definitely have weeks that will lose money as superslope changes direction, or when price rockets back and forth between the outside sixths lines, but the idea is that over time it will make some money on pretty low risk. Have fun! |
