10.3 Ratio rough draft is here. This is untested so dont try it live yet. Time for bed for me but I wanted to get it up. Test it out and let me know how it is. I found a mistake in the buy and sell EA. I corrected it in A so redownload A. Sorry

I had a losing day going to tonight and then hit the jack pot the last hour. I regained back all my losses plus some.

If you downloaded 10.3 ratio there was an error in the buy sell EAs. Please make sure you have folder A. Sorry. Also remember these are not yet tested.

Bob,

THIS IS JUST GREAT ! The jump stops strategy takes care of not only trail stop problems with whipsaws but also broker manipulations with SL sniffing.

This simple yet elegant system has the potential to obviate many of those stealth trade managers that hide SL/TPs but which then become market orders with the same broker slippage, or which are slow to execute, killing the entire purpose in the first place.

I guess we are now moving from big picture concepts (TMASlope + DWM Pivots) that define ranging (H1 and below) and trending (H4 and above) plus volatility trading techniques now. A lot of good work done quickly with both the macro and micro fundamentals in mind. This forum is a very good team indeed.

One day you folks will comes up with a solution to the slippage issues too :) The power of a good idea confronting the forex vendors !

Basically enter a trade on every chart I have open that has a visible space between the two 10.3 lines. Around 45 minutes to an hour after the lines get drawn (Waiting a bit might work better since I am generally in the red for a couple hours).

Then start BJS basket trader with (again not an experienced trader so grain of salt):
25 pips adaptive TP
-30 pip adaptive SL
-40 individual SL
12 pips adaptive BEP
4 pips adaptive BEP lock
25 individual jumping stop
15 adaptive jumping stop

I am still just doing this on a demo because I am fairly certain I am just getting lucky. I don't have much experience but it is fun seeing all red when I leave my house and coming home to a big, positive closed trade. Thanks to Bob for facilitating this demo account fun so far.
You enter a trade on all pairs regardless of where price is at? Or are you saying you set all your 'pending' trades at that time?

It hit DP, I sold, it shot up, should have waited 5-10 pips I guess, so that's first mistake.It moved SO fast against me. My system locked up. It took 15 minutes to get up each time, just in time for me to see price had moved against me, then it locked up again. It did did repeatedly for the whole hour. Then of course I had to go somewhere important, so instead of closing the losing trades like I should, I put on a hedge. Of course over next hours price didn't move much. I came back and waited many hours for nothing. I take off my hedge and the market shoots against me. BY this time, it's like hours later, and I fell to sleep. Wake up, and #&(^$_**^&(. It's happened AGAIN!

It is SO bad, I feel like I can move the market. All I have to do is put on a sell, and it will go up strong. If I put on a hedge, it will stop altogether. If I take off the hedge, it will move against me strong again. I can do it in hours, days, it doesn't matter. Price seems to only move against me, when I look the other way for 10 seconds, when I'm taking a leak or happen to fall asleep because I'm a bad robot (or they are watching me and know exactly when to move the market, cause I'm taking a break after a many hours of watching BS no movement because I have a hedge on RIGHT where price has stalled. I've felt like breaking this screen so many times it's not funny, but I like this forum :)

Anyone ever felt like that?

I will look at your info Bob, but I'm basically not in my manic state right now coding my butt off, I'm upset I can't make a winning trade, and can only trade one micro lot because I keep messing up. I need a SL/TS badly. It's SO obvious. Then walk away and have no emotions. Oh what a dream that would be.

Glad to see you beat the market once again. I hope to learn from you and implement and win, whether it includes any code of mine, I build it myself, or not.

First - very nice to see an open and honest description of your trading state - and not so much of the BS I see elsewhere (on other forums - not here). Good for you! It takes a pair to do that.

A few empathetic comments Don:

1. I wrestle with similar issues - I'm a reasonably bright guy (former senior level exec with some of the largest companies in the country) - now trading full time for approx 3 years.

BUT - I am more down (in the red) than up, plagued by much of the newbie "modus operandi" and now rebuilding my psyche, my approaches and finally starting to see "some" light - that is - I am losing less (with an occaisional nice up day), for some of the right reasons. I try to feel good about that. I will feel better when I can earn a living again. I feel and live your pain.

2. I am learning, through more and more contacts, that many if not most pros lose regularly, seek 4% per annum as a hero's goal and most others are not earning a respectable living trading. ("Respectable" means at least a modest 6 figures). At least that's what I am told by others and by the professional traders in my family (who have done very well).

I have to believe that most struggle (even though many appear to suggest that they are truly earning a solid income) and continue to search - explaining the thousands upon thousands of weekly forex trading-related posts. Everyone is in the same boat - trying to build a profitable EA, trying to better read price action, trying to develop a profitable system with a few indicators, trying to solve their head-issues, etc etc.

If most were successful, I believe that most would not continue to search. We would not see or hear from them. So we are all part of a large and sympatico family.

But - I do know a guy who makes ~$50K a week trading out of his home office. This is a big part of what keeps me going. It CAN BE DONE. (And no, I do not pick his brain. The only advice I got when first starting out was to read "Trading For A Living" by Elder. A decent read - I recommend it.)

3. I am thankful though that people like you, Bob and Steve (and others here)- with great skills and clearly a lot of candle power - continue to make generous contributions of your time and genius. Without you, most who continue to seek - would simply fail - far more quickly. You give us all hope.

4. And you have your environment on your side - you live in my favorite state. One day, when my trading pays off, we will retire in East TN - in the mountains, but away from Dollyville.

I know that I have not provided any revelations here. You know more than I. I just felt the need to respond with a few words of encouragement and appreciation for your efforts.

Damn the torpedos...full speed ahead.

I just enter all the trades that have a decent space between the two lines about an hour after lines are drawn. Not scientific at all. Bob said it was a simple system so I am trying to keep the trading as simple as possible
