Yesterday afternoon, around 16h00 I was bored and looking at those JPY-runs I still feel sorry for cutting them short by taking the basketprofit when closing everything.

Then suddenly realising that we can select pairs to trade using the ...... pairstotrade input, I fired another demo with SBB, put in on the M30 because I wanted some action and set it loose on all 7 JPY pairs. Screwed up the lotsizing in the beginning, hence yesterday´s profit in the indicator.

I set SBB to trade both the trend AND the CT, but using the H4 240MA so effectively only taking trades with the H4 trend. This way GBPJPY that was under the M30 240MA still can take (CT) long trades. I set no TP, but use the 50pip JS instead.

Idea is to take advantage of the JPY-weakness and let the trades run untill a retrace comes and takes the JS out.

That's a very interesting approach - nice idea! Empty4 make it so difficult to optimise this sort of thing, or indeed multi-currency EAs almost at all! :arrrg: Look forward to seeing your results. :youknow:

I don't know if you've tripped over some of the stats available on FX Blue (formally MT4i) that can prove very useful too for this sort of analysis. The tab of probably main interest is hidden away on the stats page as MAE/MFE. This is one of the first places I head when deciding the starting point and range of any optimisation I'm kicking off to tweak Stops and Targets. I find the trade duration time analysis can also be very useful too when developing different trade management strategies for a particular EA.

Sure,

basically i take some details from every trade SB has taken (especially the field pips, min and max) from myfxbook history, and with them i build up a matrix of every possible exit between TP 1-100 and SL 1-100.
Out of this matrix, i filter out the best TP and SL settings (pairwise).
The more trades will be in this thingy, the more accurate the whole thing will be.

Here is a screenshot of this matrix, it has fields filled to the right up to column HI, so no complete picture is possible. But i think you will get the idea.

Currently SBB is 'tanking' and building up 'energy' to explode up:

My 'equity-curve-trader' EA has so far not been very successful: It either opened the basket too-early (on the slightest sign of a recovery of the equity-curve) or too-late when most of the gains were already made. Also, the exit came often too late. I am still experimenting with different entry/exit rules, haven't given up yet.

Is there a chance that you would share the Excel template? Do you manually extract data (copy/paste) or do you use some form of script that works with myfxbook?

Really interesting... IMHO, there is very little publicly available info on optimization of trading parameters and I for one would like to get a better understanding of this....

Maybe in a few weeks, when there are some useful results. At this time, i don't even know if this calculation works or might be useful.

The data has to be copied manually in the template, but that doesn't take long. Creating all the formulas in the sheet has taken a real huge amount of time.

Hi all -

Have some good news and some bad news. Good news is that demo account is up 663 net pips since Monday. Set file is SBB%2C H1. OOTB settings on H1.

The bad news is at the moment open trades are down a little over 10%. All trades opened either 11-18-2014 or 11-19-2014. Is anyone else experiencing this level of loss on open trades? Thanks.

Yes - same position on 1H. Will be interesting to see how the ea navigates through. I have not loaded version with stoch which I think would have kept out of some of these trades e.g. gbpjpy.

I have one issue - if I reset SBB without loading charts, closes down other charts running Sb. I have not included NZD pairs so leaves those with MPTM and Once a Day Basket. However, I have Sb on the major pairs so if I do have change SBB setting I then have to reload all my Sb trades

Once again, thanks Steve - "there will be losses" and you are right, as always.
