Hi Over60, Thanks for your response. You wrote: Ok, I didn't know that. I'll have a look at it. Thanks for the advice. I'll have to think about how the money/risk management will work with that. I use a script to enter trades that calculates my risks based on my stop loss, equity, etc to make sure that even if all my trades fail my margin level will be high enough to prevent disaster with my account. I may have to somehow incorporate my script into HPEA to ensure that all my risk management is covered. What you are saying about stacking makes sense especially since once I break even + 2 or 3 to lock in some initial profit then as far as I understand the equity I used to enter that trade becomes available again so I can re-enter/stack with the same number of lots I entered with and continue doing that as the trade progresses in profit. I'll have a look at HPEA to see how it works. Thanks. I usually enter trades with lot sizes based on my initial SL that are 1% or less of my account but I wait until the price is already going in my expected direction before entering trades so this has been working ok for me for preventing early reversals, provided that my initial SL gives the trade enough room to move without getting stopped out. Nevertheless, I'll try stacking trades and see how that works out. Thanks. |

Hi Tommaso, Thanks for considering my request for multiple part closes until the minimum lot size of the remaining lots won't allow us to do any more. However, since implementing this using Jumpstep won't allow me to use Jumpstep=1 for trailing, maybe a PartCloseAsSecondTP and a PartCloseAsThirdTP would suffice along with their corresponding PartCloseSecondTpPips and PartCloseThirdTpPips, then the Jumpstep=1 trailing will continue on the rest of the position until stopped out. I don't think I'll ever need more part closes than that. However, unlike HPEA, of course I wouldn't want the use of these additional Part Closes to deactivate Use_SetBEAndJump or SetBEonPartCloseFirstTP. Thanks again for considering my request. |

Hi global, there was in past a discussion about the PartCloseAsSecondTP ecc... ---click---> http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 83#p118283 The problem is here the same, it will complicate the EA and not bring much benefit, as over60 imo is right, strategies with PC normally bring less than stacking of smaller positions with lower sizing and different TPs. So I am sorry but I will pass on this.. Cheers Tommaso |

@ Global and followers, We can use the HPEA together with the APTM to place and manage orders. The HPEA has a risk lock variable, if the margin level-percentile will move under a certain level, then the EA will stop stacking. Both robots provides a lot of advanced RMM-strategies in conjunction and security/protection-features too. It will need some time to customize the EAs until they fit the personal requirements. I trade mostly semi-automatic intraday live with initial orders, so my approach because of scalping live might be slightly different. I do not intend to talk as a schoolmaster, but I´m glad if traders do bother with risk- and money-management (RMM), which is the most essential part of trading. A book-recommendation might be the fixed-ratio method introduced by Ryan Jones in his book „The Trading Game: Playing by the Numbers to Make Millions” (google for a pdf-file). It’s a treasure from my point of view. I like his approach, because with simple calculation applied by a spreadsheet we can simulate in advance worst case MM-scenarios. For transferring and access actual data to a spreadsheet, we can use the spreadsheet DDE-Sample in the main root of Empty4. Make sure to activate DDE-server in the option-menu to get it work. I use such a spreadsheet to simulate what might be happen in the worst case concerning the open orders, when price will turn in the opposite direction. In summary: We cannot predict profit, we only can calculate the loss or we can determine at which level the account will move under water in advance. Trading multiple orders by stacking (pyramiding), beginners often underestimate the dynamics (exponential movements in both directions) concerning money-management. Often the live accounts, unlike demos are not enough capitalized or the lotsize (risks) do not correspond with the account deposit to survive spikes or retracements in the swing to close orders just in time, before moving under water. Watch also the weekly vola. By simulating worst case scenarios, we will get a feeling, how to deal with. I frequently watch member’s accounts, missing any RMM-strategy using oversized lotsize. Keep in mind by a risk of 1% with a lotsize of only 0.1 for a single order, we will need an account of appr. $2.000 deposit in a real account. The general target longterm should be to trade only with realized profits, concerning risks to let in addition the initial account grow. Forget a fictive RR with 1:2, although it might be happen. It is a paradigm, we have to overcome and ignore. If I make 100% profit in reference to the invested margin, I can protect or take this huge profit. Even 50% of the invested margin in profit is already a big win in reference and in comparison to the actual bank interest rates. I prefer to deal with stacking orders by adapting the lotsize, whereas I do not increase the lotsize in price-and trend-direction, depending on the actual status and considering the daily and weekly HL-move of the price-action. Less is frequently more, than to prospect/expect a huge fictive profit. At the top or bottom of a daily or weekly max-Vola, resp. price-action, it would not make sense to me to stay in the trend without profit protection. I´m prepared to enter the market by countertrend (40-50%) in the big picture with hedge pendings. Trade well my friends Over60 |

LOVELY thank you! When I look over trades in chart I see very often if the trade does not go in a limit of time to positive (in x candles) a SL could be prevented if the TP (!) was trailed to BE. There are some strategies trailing a TP to negative to minimize a full SL. This could be activated at a negative level or a time limit. |

Thanks Tommaso & Over60, Stacking trades is completely new to me so it will take some reading and pondering to wrap my head around it. I'll study HPEA some more and read the posts in that thread. Thanks to both of you for the advice. |
