Isn't this depending on what signal is fired first? The arrow or the waves? In my opinion the wave signal overrules all others. |

Hiya Sorry if I misinterpreted your comment and produced the wrong logic effect. All I added were a few lines to basically ignore Wave signals if they occur at the same time as Trend or Range arrows. I thought this was the priority you were after so that you didn't get competing signals but it is, of course, possible to set a different precedence for the signals. What is your preference for what should happen when these signals occur together? Or are you after something more sophisticated logic wise? All the best Jeff
Isn't this depending on what signal is fired first? The arrow or the waves? In my opinion the wave signal overrules all others.
|

Hi, No problem. My thoughts are dual; 1. arrow prints -> EA sets orders -> waves prints -> cancel orders 2. waves print -> EA cancels orders -> Arrow prints -> EA refuses to sets orders Problem is that if the waves dissappear after a while, and THEN the arrow prints, the arrow would be valid in my opinion, untill a new wave prints. I have no clue if this is possible at all to programm, and even if this is in line with Bob's thoughts about how to trade this particular event. Maybe it is best to stick to 1. & 2. because for sure we don't have a lack of orders. |

I'm not sure if this has come up in this thread but there are 2 buffers for the waves. One marks entering weakness from up/down trend and the other marks exiting weakness from up/down trend. In Bobs user manual for HGI he discusses the extreme effectiveness of large trade arrow appearing in conjunction with a wave. I can only assume these are waves from buffer 8. Load up the indicator, change colours of these two buffers so you can see which is which and look for a buffer 8 wave in conjunction with a trend arrow. The resulting move is generally fricking awesome. As for the basket management, I was thinking along the same line as Gertje. Something like %/0.01 lots/$1000 dollars. This way differing lot sizes and account sizes will be accounted for in any basket closures. |

All suggestions made by the other members are very good. Thanks to everyone for their contribution. However, my suggestion is a little bit different. (Although this can also be a question of other wording.) I would like to make the suggestion, if technically and in terms of time possible, to implement both a feature where the EA stops trading for the day after gaining a fixed percentage. And a feature where the EA will close all the open trades + pending orders when a fixed percentage is gained but won't stop trading for the day. It's just resets the portfolio to better market conditions. (Perhaps these options could also work together?) Possible additions: - Closure after fixed percentage indicated in cash. Default settings: - For the first option I would say a fixed percentage of 3 - 10% depending on the fact whether it interacts with the other option. - For the second option I would say a fixed percentage of 3% per '' basket ''. Little explanation: - With '' gained '' I mean the result after closing down all the open trades. (Closing down the floating result.) My sincere respect once again, The Wolf. |

Yes, I mentioned it before but it might be overlooked between all the "error" and "thank you" messages. My suggestion was: - close all trades when a buffer7 wave prints, - send trades when a buffer8 wave prints. In between we stay out of the market. |

From observation of the H4 charts, your suggestion makes a lot of sense. |

No excuse necessary, the information flows so fast at the moment I have trouble to keep up. |
