Thanks Renex for this valuable tool that helps a lot in trading HGI manually.

Some experienced traders here have mentioned that Trend Arrow and Blue wavy are good entry points, RAD arrow helps in staying in a trade, while opposite Range Arrow and yellow wavy are exit points. This led me to put the following suggestion:

There should be a switch (say RADRangeWavyOnOpenSymbolsOnly) which enables RAD, YellowWavy, and Range arrow be notified only for symbols of open trades. Trend Arrow and BlueWavy will be notified on all IncludeSymbols as usual. This will help in staying/exiting the currently open trades.

Hi Jauhar,

HGIMatrix is not a trade monitoring tool. It is not aware of Magic Numbers, and Order Comments, which it would need, to be able to determine what trades are currently open and what HGI-signal triggered their entry. HGIMatrix is just an multi-timeframe display of all the current and recent HGI signals.

I raised this very issue over in the http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 80#p111357 thread a couple of days ago.

No feedback from my post yet but I do believe this is something that many traders would find useful. I haven't done any Empty4 coding but I imagine it would be relatively easy to send those exit type alerts only for those pairs where you have an open position.

I thought it would be possible to get the symbols of the currently open trades (regardless of their magic numbers or comments) and then notify exit signals only for those symbols. If it is outside the scope of HGIMatrix, then an alternative would be to notify exit signals only for user selected pairs (having blue background).

You could always run 2 copies of the matrix - one for your open trades which you manually adjust to include / delete pairs as they are opened / closed and then a second matrix for the rest of the pairs you wish to monitor.

Sure, it is easy to get the currently open trades. Let's say, it finds a EURUSD, BUY trade open. It doesn't know what type of HGI-trade this is and on which timeframe it was opened. How would it know what type of signal would be an exit signal for this trade?

If we are going this route (of monitoring open trades) we are coming close to building an EA, but just leaving the OrderSend() and OrderClose() out. In fact, there is already an EA, called HGB, that can be configured to only give signals, but not trade.
