Is this tool triggered when there are trades in both directions only - and the overall profit position gets to the BasketProfit target? And will BasketProfit not activate if trades are only in one direction for one(?) (all?) pairs?
The logic works like this:
In OnTimer() it first checks if an EquityTP or EquitySL has been reached. If so, it broadcasts a (Rinse-n-Repeat) event to all the dancers that instruct them to close all their trades and restart the sequence. Secondly, it checks if currently the total profit of all trades together has exceeded BasketProfit, and if so, it broadcasts the Rinse-n-Repeat event. Then it proceeds to check for a subset of trades that exceed the MinProfit and if found it closes them.

But it is good you bring this up, as by looking at the code, I noticed an obscure bug, that makes the EA skip over the second exit condition. This will be addressed in the next version.

Mine is also wiped. I run demo with 0.01 lot per 1k USD. Obviously not enough balance for big DD. I will rerun with bigger amount :cheer:

I also have 3 live accounts running RnR with 0.01 lot per 5k and all of them are survived with a lot of profit :yahoo:

My demo account has a big drawdown too. I really like the idea of GridDancer but it seems it cannot handle extreme move as good as RnR and Dotty. Will keep the demo account going to see if it comes back, I guess we have to allow more time to see how it performs in the long run.

Maybe bigger grids are the solution? Except that makes it more of a snoozer EA....

What to do with this EA moving forward? :?: :?:   :arrrg:

Yep, my OOTB demo account also bit the dust, courtesy of Mr. Trump.

In general, the suggestions of General Goudvis would also apply for GM/GD.

Also, remember my CurrencyExposure indicator? I've noticed that each time we are getting in a big drawdown, one of the currencies is over exposed. I will add a CurrencyExposure filter to the GridDancers, that would stop them from opening a new trade, if, as a result of that, one or more of the Currencies would exceed a certain given maximum exposure limit. I don't know if this additional filter would totally clip its wings, but we can certainly try it out. We can still get in a large drawdown if we are on the wrong side of an extended uni-directional move (if HGI got it wrong), but if we limit the currency exposure it would not be as bad as it could have been.

I am currently testing that additional filter to GridDancer and will update Post 1 as soon as I have established that it is working as intended.

During elections my demo made a nice close for profit and then on the market reverse it went 2% into DD. So fairly happy with this (run on: 4 hour with HGI, 0.2 ATRratio, 0.02lots, on four majors).

However using 4 hour for the HGI was too slow in those market conditions.

Am also now testing 15min HGI timeframe with 0.3 DistBetweenTrades ATRratio

Interested to see if a quicker reversal timeframe combined with a wider grid works - theory is that the wider grid will help avoid the false reversals unless the price action moves far enough to agree with the HGI direction.

Hi Renexxx,

again great results today with the HGIdancers. Only thing is that I am still using Gridmaster 1.3. Could you say what the differnce is between version GM1.3 and GM 1.8?

regards
Tom

GM 1.8 and above is aiming to close the biggest losing (buy,sell)-tuple as its prime objective, whereas GM 1.3 is targeting the single biggest losing trade. With 1.3 it was observed that at times one or more pairs got into a situation from which they couldn't recover (namely, a situation where there are many BUY's above the current market price and many SELL's below the current market price). GM 1.8 is trying to address this.

However, if you are having fun with GM 1.3, there is no reason to change to another version.
