Alonso, being unfamiliar with spread betting myself, what kind of order do you enter into at magneta line? What would payout at 75 pips be? Cheers Mop |

Hi Alex & Mop, First let me say that I do not normally take such long trades, too much time spent looking at the screen and I have a life to live outside of trading. I prefer to take 20-35pips and perhaps look later for another opportunity. Alex: the rules are, (Two or more MTF's above/below their MA,s for Buy or Sell) so if you look at the attached pic you will see that at 22.00 Hrs the H1 just broke above its MA and the 15M was also above it's MA, although the H4 was still below the MA. So by the above rules I sold at about 75pips. Although you can see that it is not paramount to wait for a new signal ( such as the crossing of MTFand MA ) even when they have been running together for some time it is OK to trade, and provided the rules are in operation you can normally make pips, but this is down to your own judgement. But I have found that when all three MTF's are together then a good series of trades can be made. Mop: There are plenty of spreadbetting sites that will provide the information about how it all works. I just enter a buy order for the amount I want to bet, which is always 1/500 of my betting capital, this is rounded up in the first instance so that the initial bet is £1stg. It is not until the capital reaches £1000stg that the bet can be doubled to £2stg, £1500 for £3stg etc. This controls my risk as if I got it completely wrong I would only be stuffed in the early days because losing bets will soon destoy the capital, but I am only betting a small amount of the capital each time. So you can work out that if I don't blow my stake but reach £500stg, at £1stg/point I would have been very, very stupid and unlucky if I let my losses run up to 500 Points What would payout at 75 pips be?Well the return depends on the size of your bet, so at £1/point (£75stg), £5/point (£375stg) and so on. Bare in mind that most sites have a maximum bet size. The one I use is £500/Point, you need a big stake to cover things at that level and several pair of trousers handy. Hi Marsie, This thread has almost stopped, I keep checking but no one seems interested which is a shame as I find it excellent. I am now using an 8 period MA which gives signals slightly faster. On average I make 20-25 pips each trade. It would be more interesting if others posted their results and if Neotrader also joined the discussion with his success rate, but he has not been posting on site for quite some time which is a great pity as his experience and expertise is missed. At the moment I trade the 10.3 scalp system basically. But I check fitful the conditions of Neo-Settings in 4 charts. And when I see a good entry I go in the trade. I wait for all 3 lines crossing in the same direction. This happens not often. But when it happens you can go with all your money in the trade. Last friday when the things in 10.3 going against me I save all with Neotraders system and made 8% with 2 trades. |

Hi Dentiok, Neotraders rules were to Buy if two or more MTF's were above the MA's and Sell if they were below. However I have found that if all three are above/below then the momentum is stronger and good trade usually result. Because I use Alpari who's server is two hours ahead of GMT where I trade then I have to allow for the difference hence you will note that most of my trades are taken when the screen shows about 11.00am plus. I have attached some previous trades for you to look at and note the positions of the MTF's when I entered and although you may see that the at least two MTF's are still above/below the MA's I have closed the trade. Sometimes because I have made 25pips sometimes because of how the candles are in relation to the Bollinger Bands. You have to decide on you own exit stategy. So long as I make 125pips per week I am OK, more is nice but as I spreadbet this amount of pipe pays me £625stg per week, and I don't stress myself out trying for the moon. To answer your question: No I don't as I am governed by the time difference, hence the trades around 11.00am shown on the screen. So long as there are two meeting the rules you will see that I often enter just after one has signalled, As Marsie said three are excellent and this confirms my statement in the first paragraph. Allonso your explanation it´s clear, thank you Another question. In the pic you see a trade I took (red vertical line), it meet rules at that time. A few bars later, H1 signal changed (circle zone) in other words H1 direction change or close north bias. I understand the mtf indis behavior, but my question is do you close a trade like that because of this? I want to now too, do you wait for bar close to confirm the cross in 15M lines? best regards |
