Results update for my standard setup for info (not the xfactornos jumping stop one). I am running that also but early days.

Fab! I assume this is OOTB settings?

Over 100% (incl floating green pips) in 3 months trading hands off.

(let alone the last 3 month included 3 NFP'S, a Christmas period and the biggest unexpected currency move recorded to date ever (CHF).

No broker worth the name trades over the weekend.

It is a question of risk as markets can move over the weekend even though we don't have access to them with the result being gaps on open Sunday/Monday. If the news is significant then the gap could be big and your trades taken out well past your stops. Of course they could also benefit from the gaps.

Everyone has to use their own judgement on this and (imo) it is basically a function of risk appetite, whether you can afford to lose your funds (worst case scenario) and size of account.

Not OOTB, I shut down over Christmas and I manually remove pendings that I just don't like (bottom/top of ranges etc). I also cut down my pairs over time - now trading only 19 pairs but in reality it is less than that as I am just deleting any pendings for CHF pairs at the moment - I will probably just remove them.

I also close trades as and when I see fit, including partial scale outs sometimes. Normally 5 minutes a day "maintenance/personalising" max....

EDIT: risk equates to an average of around 1.75% for anyone interested. I am actually going to move to risk based lot sizing from the fixed one that I was using.

Yep - I do too but I am not trading quite the same way as I am not using the jumping stop version on one of my demo's so trades can be open for quite a long time (longest with Pipcruiser was 34 days ;) ) so gaps don't affect that version of the demo as much.

You can take the spotdespot's MyFxBook demo account as an example to see what is going here...

Average Win: 259.14 pips / £206.59
Average Loss: -100.19 pips / -£173.70
Win Rate%: 70%

That is: BE winRate % (pips) = 27.8% (this would be real if you never change your lot size)
BE winRate % (money) = 45.6%

So, as long as he keeps the winRate% >= 45.6%, he would never lose his money.

obviously, you can know if a system is profitable or not looking the Profit Factor stat for example. I just thought that this would be helpful.

The only trouble with this logic is that it doesn't take in to account the fact that I scaled out of a lot of positions, which somewhat distorts all those stats on myfxbook. I'm not sure if it's better on FxBlue - Gertje likes that so I expect he can tell you.
