Hi Phil, I studied the behavior of MM. I have introduced in MM the modification that allow MM to calculate SS indi in different time for each chart. Once MM begin SS-indi calculation the memory consumption increase from 20 to 65 MB, depend which pair has been calculated. After two minutes ( that's value of myStartMinute variable) the next chart is calculated and the memory consumption increase again. This happen up to the last chart has been calculated. at the end the total memory consumption will be 800MB (for 11 charts). But ..... if I push F7 key and return to the chart, the memory back free, the same if I restart Empty4. At this point, my question is: all the data that MM store in memory from SS-indi, after calculation, is possible to cancel? JJ |

I have no clue how to free memory in Empty4, neither how to force reload of EA itself from within the EA... I am open to suggestions ! One thing I was about to propose to Phil is, why not get rid of S/R filter at all, and use a specific, light-weight-small-footprint fractal indicator for the Stoploss and directional filter purposes ? |

I have been running 0.35 for some time now and notice the same problem of positions opening up correctly in my opinion, and then somewhere down the line, closing at a loss. I cant pinpoint what is wrong with that, but without changing any of the settings, i have thrown MPTM in the mix on the last EURUSD charts pictured on 1M, similar to what i used on TrendyGary. Ive only upped the risk to get a better feel for the EA as it is a 50k GPrime demo anyway. 9 charts on 15M. Settings should be visible on the pics, but using Niepce's supplied set files. I'm not having any memory problems or high cpu usage, but then again, this system is overkill for normal use. Myfxbook seems to be down this morning, but it is on my demos list. will try to remember to come back here and add the link. Thanks for the great work here Niepce and Phill, wish i were more 'forex-eductated' to give you guys better feedback, i just dont see what could be the problem. regards cuz |

why not get rid of S/R filter at all I have to say I have no memory problem with this indi, when it's read buy my Windev/Empty4 sofware. so problem must be when calling from icustom. If we load this indi on every chart, you can access to S/R value by reading GV without icustom. So if we use another light Fractal indi, may be you can avoid this memory problem. Y'a plus qu'à |

Hi Phil, So sorry. I forget not everyone follows TG. Ok. I noticed that MM would take positions that were correct in my opinion using/confirming positions with my manual trading or looking at indis i use. Then, after going into profit, the positions would retrace and close at a loss. Therefore, i'm using MPTM on the EURUSD1M chart and should not be affecting MM's trades at all , except that MPTM should BE at 10 and JS by 25. There are no SL's or TP's . If a position continues to go in MM's favour, then it will TP as normal or as MM intended, but if the position reverses, then it will, or should be caught by the BE of MPTM. If the position never go's into profit, then MM's SL or close method should take the position out. I hope this is clearer for what i'm trying to get at. sorry again, cuz |

Can you help me find the right lightweight fractal indy, with the right settings, to mimic Slipshod's ? |

Ok I think I understand now I think you misunderstand how Marylin is trying to do. Please refer to my post 9H53 http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... &start=340 Marylin concept is to catch long trend, adding trade along the run of some weeks or months, not to take 40 pips from time to time. All my backtests with FT prove that we can gain a lot with this way of trading, but we have to accept bad trades, as this one you discribe. If you cut too soon the trade, you will miss this. example : FT Test €/$ from 2009 to 02/2013 with lot 0.10 -> 170 trades which 80 bad trades ( negative result with SL MAX or MACD inverse ) and 90 good trade with a lot of +2000 pips but a perfect equity curve with +22 K$ gain So, the main improvement for Marylin would be to avoid this bad trades without cutting the good trades, and the main difficulty, is they're look like very very very similar at the beginning ! any idea ? |
