Perhaps with a couple thousand hours of chart time, it may become clearer, but from my past experiences with this, it won't.

First up, I'd like to say a big thanks for all you have provided on this forum and at FXAW. I know it must take time away from you skinning foxes, but all the charts you post here are illuminating and it's great to see your thoughts on the various patterns we all stare at day in-day out. The same thanks goes to all the regulars here who have helped to make this my favorite forum on the whole internet
This is my first post here, after many months of reading and processing all of the postings and pdfs. I built a backtester to practice trading on and have been consumed with getting this method right. I've come to see that even if you have the direction right, there will be so many attempts to separate you from your position that it's hard to hold on even when it's going your way. Like riding a bull and holding on for your life, your positions can be jerked around and those cowboys with weak grips will get thrown off all too easily.
For the past month or so I have taken up a study of supply and demand, hoping it would add something to my ability to track price too. It has been useful to note the relevance of various price formations, such as rally-base-drops, and failure to return points. However I also note that no values are absolute and as you point out, these areas are often scenes of a slaughter.
In regards to your comment above, I remember reading a post of yours on FF where you talk about predicting price. Having read enough of your posts both here and on FXAW to know that you definitely CAN, I wonder if you'd be willing to share your methodology for how you go about building these price projections. Not that one could trade like you, but if one were to shoot for the stars, where might I find that rocket fuel?
