If you have survived this system through the rough edges, well done
and it gives me so much more confidence in this system.When I trade manually I can see what an Ea cannot see. The challenge has been to more or less simulate my manual trades with what indicators we have at our disposal. And of course, as I have stated that I look at weekly pivots and monthly pivots. If you have reversal signals with my STO 7 Indicator they are usually good at weekly/monthly support/resistance levels. Of course for me to simulate this I went looking at Peaky and then Steve came up with the TD pivot indicator. It was like giving candy to a kid
. I had lots of thoughts and plans in mind but needed time to put all this together. With peaky I started with the hourly level 1682 bars ago. Trades were good but if you look at the retraces draw down was mounting and so I went looking at testing peaky on the lower time frames. All time consuming but I feel happy that peaky on the 5 and 15 min time frame more or less simulates my trading strategy and line up more or less with weekly pivot support/resistance.Pivots have always been integral in my trading from the early days with Nanningbob, so I simply had to incorporate this. The daily down to the hourly time frame looks at trading with the flow but the weekly is contra and trades short above and long below the weekly pivot. The monthly time frame contra could be an avenue to explore in future.
Anyway my thought process in a nutshell but one thing I must say that this does not happen overnight. It only comes with lots of hours looking at charts and forward testing.
I have attached a picture to show you what your TDesk master must look like. Your chart template should look like this: Your Jagz Eax template should look like this. This is only scratching the surface and there is a wide scope out there, Refer the post by Jagzuk Fx in the indicator collection thread and Thomas has touched on this as well and enhanced TDesk with Jagz's Eax pins. Anyway guys exciting times ahead. We finally have the tools to trade like masters but nothing will come easy. Forward tests, mastering your system and pay constant attention to what price is doing.
