So true... There has been many hedge funds staff with experts that collapse because their black box could not change with the markets.... An EA on a Empty4 platform will not do better. Now what it will do is give a trader a solid platform to work on to become more successful with their bottom line. Andy is there an easier way to include or exclude currencies traded on 10.4? For example I may want to trade 4 or 5 currencies or even just one. Can there be an option that is the opposite of "extern string IgnorePair = ""; // place symbol if you want to ignore like "extern string TradingPair = ""; // place symbol if you want to trade Also I had talked about this before but I know that Bob is using this in conjunction with 10.4 - Is there a way that 10.4 can look at the output of the CCS indicator an trade the strongest 1,2,3 currencies against the weakest 1,2,3? I really like it and it works... When 10.4 puts a pending order and it is triggered is there a way to have it place another pending one level preceding the original pending. Example: Pending sell stop at 121.7 trigger at Weekly Support 1 and new pending Sell Limit placed at Weekly Mid Support 1. If price action goes up to that level the pending Sell Limit is trigger... I wish I knew how to program as I would jump in there with you guys... |

I was wondering this too. Can we just edit Market Watch and set AutomaticSymbolScan=True? |

I've been down the road before, where we add this and add that, before long the EA is not what it started out to be, I've tried all the strength stuff before and for me it never worked, if you look at a chart and see that when price is below the Monthly 2ma, it continues, we just have to be patient, the EA is working fine, so why change it, but I do valid your idea's. If price pulls back and the condition is correct to place orders, the EA will do what you are asking. Best Regards Andy Best Regards Andy |

Hello, AutomaticSymbolScan=True, floods the screen with all the symbols. Are you looking at something like only trade these pairs, like Paul's EA do? Andy |

Andy, and potentially other 10.4 experts who trade end of day, 1.07 doing well 2% up on Monday trading with some "intelligent" intervention against 1% risk trades. I take your point on keeping EA pure to 10.4 strategy and not adding rules and complexity to seemingly refine selection ...it generally does not work I have developed EAs and thought I was being cleaver to identify unsuccessful trades and programme them out only to end up with ....nothing. A successful mechanical trading strategy has a small window of opportunity which can easily be destroyed by over development with automation and complexity. Plus leave the detailed trade management side to individuals and their individual risk appetite and or philosophy of the markets to define. On this last point I need some advice ..even with equity protection EA, vps running with secure provider in NY, and 1% risk, plus less aggressive settings ref. correlation, exit on reversal, use both for pull back.... I still would like to prevent significant equity retracement during the period I cannot normally intervene (new day job 8am -8pm GMT ) I am disciplined to review every evening 2200 GMT for one hour so what to use .....MPTM and or MPBM conflicts ? experience? application ? or just leave it with stealth? Secondly tried 1.08 did not fire up nothing inside borders ...must try harder before whingeing leave it with me unless you have any intuition... Last point what is the consensus on RSI Vs. Stoch??? use one or the other or both? anything concrete? Thanks in advance Jonathan |

Jonathan, NB recently stated in his thread that he generally prefers Rsi on TMA over Stoch.... but he also mentioned that he uses RSI on H4 and Stoch on H1. Not able to quickly locate the original post but here is a subsequent one - http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 599#p48599 Cheers |
