On a slightly unrelated note, has there been any thought on updating 10.6 indicators to the new Empty4 that we will be forced to upgrade to during January?

will fail a recompile with the most painful being that you can no longer have dots or other funny characters in variable names (I am not sure about _). Has anybody downloaded the beta and tested some of the indicators?

MQ is backporting most/all features of MT5 into Empty4. I guess the reason being that forcing the MT5 no-hedging rule on the rest of the world was a failure and severly limited takeup of MT5. But MT5 has some really nice features like OOP (object orientated programming) which makes coding much easier. I really struggle to understand the thought process of making MT5 not backwards compatible with Empty4 - could they not have implemented the no-hedging rule on the server side? Anyway, they are now going the reverse - making Empty4 backwards compatible with MT5!!!

To make OOP work, they had to add lots of restrictions on variable names etc which will probably break a lot of code. Better be prepared when that beast gets forced on us with an auto upgrade.

I agree that most of the terminal related changes are for revenue raising - the language changes are the ones that will be the problem.

I dont want to get into a deep discussion about the pros and cons of hedging but who gives a rip. If a trader wants to hedge, sheesh let him. So what? I understand the logic of having a buy trade and a sell trade going on at the same time but each trade has a separate purpose. In other words they are not connected. Some people think it is stupid to do so. Others think there are times it is valuable to do this.

I see a value in taking a time out and walking away to think about a trade or series of trades so you hedge so as get away from or to something else. OK but ............... ah forget it not worth the discussion anymore. I cant hedge in the USA so why bother.

hey bob, do you think CSS on the daily TF would be a better indicator of fundamental moves setting up rather than 10.6 by itself to look for these moves ?

I agree 100%, but my point was that MQ forced no hedging (a USA only rule) on the rest of the planet - yes there is a whole other world outside the USA. I guess they thought that the whole world was going to adopt no hedging so they made it a key "feature" of MT5. Bit of a mistake that was, plus the failure to make Empty4 code be compatible with MT5, thus nobody wanted to convert to MT5.

This is probably not the correct place to discuss Empty4 changes, so topic closed. Just be aware of the of possible impact in January.

Signals: Added the option for unconditional synchronization of positions between a signal source and a subscriber's account. If enabled, synchronization of subscriber's and signal source's accounts (including closing open positions not related to the signal) is performed without subscriber's additional confirmation.

OH I love this feature. Imagine someone hacking your computer or the broker's system and having some fun with everyone's account.

They compliment each other. One gives a signal and the other confirms. They should go hand and hand. For example I am talking GBP/NZD sell even though GBP is strong and NZD is in the middle of the pack. CSS shows a possible happening and 10.6 will give the confirmation or place to enter. CSS is telling me GBP is strong but beginning to weaken. NZD is strengthening. 10.6 will confirm to enter or not enter.

See chart below. CSS is telling me a change could happen. 4H chart is telling me it could also. I now have my sell at the DP line and a 10.4 trade during a range/reversal time has arrived. I am waiting for the STO7 signal to go for a range trade AND I am waiting for a 240 line break for a signal to enter a DT.

On the other hand if GBP stays strong and doesnt weaken and NZD doesnt continue to strengthen. I am not in and I stayed out of a bad trade. I then can see if the GBP will go back into its UT or continue to range. This makes reading the market a heck of lot easier to read once you understand all the components of the system.

Here are my reads then gbp weakening, nzd strengthening CSS
10.6 shows range trade area with a range trade at the DP line and a DT trade at the 240.
It also shows that if price breaks above the 60 we could go back into an UT after a week of ranging.

No matter what price action does I know what I want to do, where I want to do it. I just dont know the when. So I wait for price to dictate my next move.
