ps: I don't know for you guys, but this week I didn't catch good trades. Yesterday market was very low, today even worst, hope tomorrow will be better.

There were a few xxJPY trades today and a couple of AUDxx trades from late yesterday. Not much besides.

So how did we do with the last journal of Nov 6th?

Well, the direction posted in the journal for 24 of the 26 pairs proved to be right! the 2 pairs marked for clarificaton were difficult to trade. So accuracy was 92%, the normal average from my experience. Pretty cool, eh? 8-)

What about profitability? During the day of the 6th, just a few pairs met the entry conditions for their trading modes (AC, AJ, CJ, NJ & NU) yielding 249pips (43+68+49+43+36+10). However, as anyone closely following CTS will have known by now, Obama's re-election in the US delivered a bonus, retracing to pick 7 pending orders (CJ, EG, EJ, EU, GCH, GU & UCH) to hit TP at the opposite trading range and deliver 484pips (85+30+95+101+67+55+51) the next day!!

The good thing about doing the hard work of getting the trade direction and trading mode right is that it makes it so much easier to know 1) which pending order to use (Buy/Sell Limit/Stop) and 2) where best to place them with the CTS trading system (HPTPs) so that profitable trades can be taken at the lowest SL risk even when you are not there.

You can simulate for yourself, the entries in the direction I had posted in the journal using the CTS method. Just direction, trading mode, entry conditions, pending orders w/ SL - that's all.

We'll see how today's journal fares.... :D

Hi CC,

Been following this thread with interest - very impressive results. I may have missed something in an earlier post and, if so, I apologise for the question - do you use any form of trade management like MPTM etc, or are these trades basically set and forget (since you have already established a good risk to reward ratio before placing the trade)?

The reason for the question was in the trades above I see a 10 pip profit so was wondering whether this "early" exit was the result of a trailing stop, jumping stop or whatever.

Keep up the great work - this really is evolving into a winner!

I use MPTM and yes, that was breakeven pips (35/10).

I'm working on pair correlation and hope to soon suggest how the system may be basket-traded (in which case, MBTM or BJC/ShelleyNow will apply). Early tests look good!

That sounds awesome.

For the first time in my life I am getting 85%+ correct reads on currency direction using your system. Trading this as a basket with such a high percentage of currencies heading the right way and off-setting the losses of the one or two "rogues" :lol: makes perfect sense.

Hi Lara,

I'm happy the system is helping you trade better.

It works because of the way it is carefully built-up using several components that can each achieve one of the things we are looking for in a consistently profitable system - usability in any market condition, the right setting of trade direction, the right timing of entry & exit, and the right pair selection (though it is a complex coding challenge, I doubt we can get to the objectives with a simpler approach).

NB10.2a's groundbreaking pivot formations were extended for direction setting, ExtremeTMA's alerts developed for profit-maximizing timely exits, then modes were defined for entry in each market condition. I believe that with pair correlation and carefully defined baskets, a fine-tuned CTS should be able deliver a daily average of 500-1000pips consistently (the key word). That may yet be as close as CTS can get to a holy grail system (oh, may we stand on the shoulders of giants - Nanningbob & Alorente - to reach higher ground :D ).

We'll see...
